Bob McAdoo GB QB coach a possible candidate

Never has been an OC and people cheering for him, I bet HALF never heard of him before today.

Why do you let your hatred of Joe Philbin cloud the fact that he is not a lame duck coach unless he completely bombs next year?

You answered your own question....if he bombs he is out. There is no wiggle room for the next OC. He could be one and done like Brian Daboll.

Why should this young coach come and work under a lame duck?[/QUOTE

Are you saying the Dolphins should fire Philbin after two years? If you already talked about this in another post, I'm sorry.
I know Joe is not the most charismatic guy, but I can't pull the plug on him after two years. If we fire him after two years, doesn't that make him a lame duck from the start?

Forget these Packer guys, unless they are bringing Aaron Rodgers with them.

Look...this is a mess. The owner is supposedly forcing the HC to fire the OC. A czar might come in. The HC and GM have tension between them.

I like continuity, but with all of these issues and the lack of skill Joe Philbin has as head coach, I guess I would clean house.

There are still major issues...
* What happens to Jeff Ireland?
* If he is canned, who replaces him?
* Getting a talented GM will be harder to get if he forced to work with Joe.
* What talented OC will want to work with Joe Philbin who is down to his 9th life?
* Has Joe been emasculated by the owner by forcing him to fire his mentor?

Lots of issues still there...oh yeah, the Wells report will be out in a month. It is a mess and a re-set push is in order.

Well we'll be at this again next year.

I'm asking you again...just go to the Chargers board and do us all a favor.

Hayden, thanks for the in-depth answer. I share your same concerns. Since, the Dolphins will probable settle on only firing Sherman, I hope you're wrong.
There's got to be a case where parts of the team were put together at different times and they still had success. Of course, I can't think of any off the top
of my head.
I do think Ireland needs to go. The 2013 draft alone could be enough to get fired over. Yes, that creates a lame duck situation with Philibin. I'm just not ready to
pull the plug on him unless a 40 year Don Shula is walking through the door.
