Bob McAdoo GB QB coach a possible candidate

Never has been an OC and people cheering for him, I bet HALF never heard of him before today.

You answered your own question....if he bombs he is out. There is no wiggle room for the next OC. He could be one and done like Brian Daboll.

We heard his name as a possible OC when Philbin was hired. We just don't remember it as it's not a household name.

Soooo, Joe is going to hire a guy that has NEVER called plays at any level? Wow....

That is as dumb as hiring an OC as a team's head coach even though the guy never called plays as the OC....oops.

So, why am I not surprised that fans here are so basic minded that they know nothing about McAdoo and yet are still crying about him possibly getting a job in Miami.

Its hilarious watching people cry about "rookie" coaches.

Was Sherman a rookie coach? Smh

they cry about everything. This entire offseason will be one huge tear bucket of nonsense.

A rookie wants to prove something do they not? You can mold them to what you want and arent dealing with an old school ego right?

I would like Kubiak but the guy passed out on the court with a damn heart attack! That guy needs to sit down for a year and take a load off.

it may not matter much if RT takes over the reigns and starts to make his own calls. If you look at the playoffs, those QB's often are on automatic pilot.

RT is not going to "call his own shots". He is not ready to do that. Come on. This OC pick is HUGE for this franchise.

great just what we need....a guy who's never called plays before...stupid is as stupid does smh.

Joe's not a lame duck. The fact that Jeff Ireland STILL HAS A JOB is proof that Steve Ross just isn't going to fire people unless he catches them stealing money or sleeping with his wife.

I think you mean stealing money AND sleeping with his wife. One or the other won't do it for Ross.

Something interesting about GB coaches. They tend to subscribe to the theory that rush attempts are important, not rushing yards. Now that Lacy is running well in GB I'm hoping they change their mind a bit.

This is only bad if it causes them to half-ass those attempts. I'm not saying that it does or doesn't. But they're right that rushing attempts are a better indicator of winning than are rushing yards.

I think that our OC position is going to be a tough one to fill (assuming Ireland stays and we don't clean house). With JP's job on the line, he will want more control over the offense and adding McAdoo just sort of makes sense.

McAdoo is obviously not the top candidate available but honestly why would an established coordinator want to be handcuffed to a lame duck coach? They'd be taking a huge career risk and there are several more stable OC jobs available.

I am very, very optimistic about Tannehill's future and I believe he will improve next year. With or without better blocking.

I can't imagine how bad it must be to be a fan of this team right now if you don't have confidence in RT to develop. There's nothing to look forward to if you think he's a bust. Nothing.

What they have to look forward to is the same as most on here--a complete housecleaning, just including the QB in their case.

RT's development is the most vital thing facing this team. The question is, how do you go about that?

* Is he best served by keeping Joe and Sherm?
* Is he best served by keeping Joe and Joe hiring the next OC?
* Is he best served by a new coach and OC?

I say it is the last option.

Where have you heard this? Awsi Dooger has been shouting that from the rooftops here for years.

You wanted to keep him on the bench for his first season so why should anybody care what you think is the best way to develop him? Do you still think Philbin was wrong with that decision?

At this point it sounds like Ben McAdoo will get the OC job if he accepts it. He’s receiving interest from other teams though.

I would rather not dip anymore into the Packers tree. I'm becoming more convinced it's a whole lot of guys riding Rodgers coattails.

Who else is from the Packers besides Philbin?
