This simply makes no sense. Oklahoma was not a great team this year. If Boise had beat Michigan or USC, then I think your theory might have a little more credibility. A new era in college football? Talk about hyperbole...

Oklahoma lost to Texas this year, and also lost due to officiating mistakes at Oregon. In any BCS system, had they won the Oregon game, they would have been ranked WAY higher than USC!
