Boston Resident/Lifelong Dolphin fan making the trek to Sun Life. Need Help.

I watched the week 17 game last year vs the jets from club liv, what a experience that was

PM me and give me some details about the Club Liv section. I was thinking of adding a couple more tickets from the Club Liv section. Sales people really can't tell you much about it. I like to hear about real people experiences. I know you have the option to get couch like seats in the 200 level as well as a couple indoor seats where the luxury boxes would be. I am more interested in the actual experience. Club Liv in Miami is a pretty hot club.

Driving ourselves is not an option because not drinking is also not an option. Thank you for the tips. As far as the hotel, all it said on Expedia was Courtyard Marriott South Beach.

I know there is one shuttle company who charges you $30 roundtrip per person from and to Miami Beach. But that shuttle is from 5th and Washington.

Marriott calls it the Courtyard Cadillac Miami Beach Oceanfront and Expedia just Courtyard. Since your hotel is in the 3900 block of Collins Avenue (technically you are not in South Beach) you probably have a long walk to the shuttle. Maybe you can contact the hotel and ask them for a free shuttle down to 5th and Washington. Its probably only 10-15 minutes or so to drive. If it would be me I would probably take the shuttle and do bar and club hopping on my way back to the hotel on Collins and Ocean Drive. .

The club level does indeed give you access to the air conditioned corridor so you'll be fine. That's a good call since you got the kids with you. If you're going to golf you NEED to do Doral Golf Course. That's where the pros play and one if the better courses down here. It's kind of a drive from south beach to the stadium though. Should have chosen something closer. Any other questions just PM me.

Doral was my first thought as it is close to MIA but when I reread the OPs post I saw that they are flying in and out of FLL.

I agree. If I would come into south Florida for a football weekend I definitely would have stayed in the Fort Lauderdale beach area. Between FLL beach, 17th Street Causeway, Las Olas and Downtown you have a huge variety of nightlife, the beach is much nicer and food is much cheaper. The drive to the stadium is a breeze. People just don't realize the step forward this area did over the last 10-15 years. For many South Beach just lives on its reputation from the 80s.

MercuryMan, good luck in getting any responses to your questions. I asked the same things when the schedule came out in April for the Ravens game in December. Not a peep. I don't think the finheaven fans want to respond because if they give you a bad suggestion, they will be ripped to shreds by others.

If you do find a good place to play golf and if the hotel is good, please let me know so I can set up a reservation for my son and I.

If I lived in the area and had the information I would share it with you guys.

the heat and humidity is worse than you can ever imagine, its stifling club level would certainly be the best option.

A/C is certainly the best option, it's hot.

The stadium is not in Miami, but I understand why you'd want to be near South Beach. That's a good option and then Fort Lauderdale beach as well.

Most people here drive so not a lot of people use public transportation. As far as groups go, you might want to search around a little on facebook or dolphin websites to see if there's any particular group of fans who are organizing a tailgate.

Here's a luxury Dolphins charter bus:

This is a package from the organization themselves:

Everything but the flights can be changed. Our sons are recent college grads (22) and South Beach was their idea. The hot women factor no doubt played a role in their selection. We will have a rental car, the only day we don't want to drive is game day. driving to and from golf courses is no problem. As to Doral, the website says that Big Blue is closed for the Summer and doesn't reopen until 9/15. The only one that appears available for play on 9/8 is the Norman course aka White.

I appreciate the help. Thanks.

I've used these for games and other summer activities. Who'd a thunk it, but they really work well. There are a bunch of different brands with no doubt the same technology but this is one of the more popular ones that has worked well for me. I sure wouln't go to the stadium in Sept or early October w/o it.

Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad® Super Cooling Towel

Made from a hyper-evaporative material that retains water while remaining dry to the touch.
When wet, the towel begins to evaporate and cool, providing cool, soft comfort to the user.
When it stops cooling (about 1-4 hours, depending on conditions), you simply re-wet the towel in hot or cold water and wring it out.
Within minutes, it's cool again

When I lived at Doral there were 4 different courses. Red , White , Silver and the big one. The first three are nice but nothing special. Of course Trump may have changed everything since he bought the place.

The second course I recommended on Key Biscayne is a lot of fun being right next to the water and all. The drive from Miami Beach is great as you see all the cruise ships and go by where the Heat play taking you through the downtown and on to Brickell ave. This is the part of Miami that is on all the TV shows. Several great restaurants as well so you could make it a day.

I would play Key Biscayne or Biltmore. The later is a serene Donald Ross course in Coral Gables, with a grand view of the famous Biltmore Hotel throughout the course.

The Miami Beach course is a good choice also. They did a very expensive renovation maybe a decade ago.

Public transportation isn't the best around the stadium. No dedicated rail station - lots of shuttles to Tri-Rail and MetroRail. There's also local bus lines that serve the stadium on gamedays. Taking Tri-Rail would be impractical as would MetroRail since none serve the stadium - it'd be recommended if you were heading to a Heat game however in downtown Miami.

Since you're coming from Miami Beach I'd recommend just driving to the stadium in your rental car.

Normandy Shores is a good track: Miami Beach area, but less expensive than others, and its usually in excellent condition - http://www.normandyshoresgolfclub.com/

If you're in Broward, Plantation Preserve (http://www.plantation.org/Golf/Plantation-Preserve/) and Jacaranda (http://www.golfjacaranda.com/) are good choices. I play the Jacaranda courses (they have 2) a few times a month and they present a moderately challenging playing experience but certainly are fun with a variety of holes. I play the back tees, and the East course is fairly long at 7247 yds.
