Brad Allen's Officiating Crew Suspended

I say we leave it up considering you gave me all kinds of **** for telling you that what you posted wasn't true and you threw a hissy fit. Leave the evidence here.
Well at least they are being investigated. The suspension comes in a bit.

Alternative timelines and all that. The OP got ahead of himself 😂

Correct.

PI is a tricky one though. I mean, in theory any contact thar hinders the WRS ability to catch the ball while it's in the air is PI. I Mean if the defender is stride for stride, his hand hits the WRS arm or hand, that's PI in reality per the rule. It's not just holding or preventing the catch. But they have the whole incidental contact and the defender has the right to play the ball. That 1 rule has so many "buts" or "ifs" that makes that rule so difficult to judge because each refs tolerance level or interpretation is diferrent

It's kind of like holding. If you called it to the letter of the rule, you could probably call PI on every play IMO.
This...

...and this is why they are REALLY hesitant to make it reviewable.

Can you imagine a ref, rightfully, trying to explain how it was incidental contact thus not PI.

That would only fuel the conspiracy theorists, like myself, fire lol

I would hate to be that ref in the SB

Yeah, it's inconceivable, and way too easy to prove, that an official's buddy or sibling places a bet on a team for them.

When it was reviewable, basically everything looks like PI when it's slowed down.
Yup... making PI reviewable turns almost everything into PI... and creates delay after delay in the game.
It'd be really tough to figure out a path to implement this. I suppose you could limit the number of PI challenges, but then there'd be a blown call after a team was out of challenges... and the whole thing would begin again.

Not always about betting...it's those off the book perks... courtside tickets, invitation to certain clubs 😉

This is why, to meet in the middle, I would advocate that each team gets 1 additional replay. This is specifically, and only usable for a penalty called.... or not called. For instance, when Taylor for the Chiefs continuously jumps early, or Lane Johnson has his 20 hold in the game not called, you can challenge those.

But only 1. So choose wisely. I don't think it would slow the game down, too much.

Man is innately corrupt.

So, it could as simple as a Ref has a fantasy team. He is up against the other team who has Trevor Lawrence. It's the fantasy playoffs. Lawrence just lauched a 60 yard TD to Kirk. Well, that ref conveniently calls holding on that play.

It's petty, but that's more realistic then they are all honorable to me

Is there a ref out there who is betting on the NFL?

Probably... there will always be a Pete Rose.

The fact that he would receive an instant lifetime ban means that 1) he's stupid and 2) he's REALLY stupid to risk a comfortable income for any hard to hide winnings.

Right there that's it.

This isn't the same as your friend that thinks the world is flat or wacky conspiracies like the moon landing was fake...or people in government are aliens like in 'They Live' and whatnot.

The ref issue is a legitimate concern for the league given how consistently bad its gotten, and whether publicly or not, needs to address its issues regardless of the 'why'...whether it's just them being too old (excuses) or something more egregious like them gambling/being on the take...the 'why' doesn't matter...they need to get it corrected...or else the noise from the fans will only get louder concerning this topic.

No one can just brush it off and say it's not possible or it's never happened (when it has) that there may be some funny business going on with some of them as that'd be essentially the same as believing the world is flat.

Fair enough.

But I wouldn't have thought a reporter would have created such a lie.

Goodell works for the owners, not the other way around. The idea that a bunch of billionaires would let the league office determine what befalls their favorite playthings every Sunday doesn’t pass the laugh test. “Darn, we’re playing the Chiefs this week. Oh well…”

There are blown calls every year...

The only thing that has changed is the fact that America is currently wracked with a conspiracy mindset.
