I would have rather had Grossman here. Brady Quinn is about as fun as that signing of JP Losman we had a couple years. I understand the necessity of signing someone and just wish it hadn't been someone I despise watching.
This offense really fits Quinn, I wish he were five years younger.
But he is a scrub QB. One who hasn't played and doesn't know the offense.I thinkwe just want a better backup to put in preseason games you can't evaluate WRs with a scrub QB throwing to them like last game
Finally, we have a real winner here at QB..............In his career, Brady Quinn has a completion rate of 53.8% for only 5.5 YPA and has thrown 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions, with a QB rating of only 64.4 rating. And he has 1 TD rushing.
Tim Tebow while not great, is better. In his career (counting the Jets) he has had a completion rate of only 47.9 but has a 6.7 YPA average so while he has completed less, he has averaged more yards per attempt partly because he almost never dumped off the ball. And he has thrown 17 TDs to 9 interceptions with a QB rating of 75.3. And he has ran for 12 TDs.
If the team told him "we only need you for a few weeks until everybody is healthy" and he doesn't start with Fox until September, why not take a two week job for good pay?
Because he would be risking his health for a crappy paycheck and scrub work? Is it really worth the risk for him? He could tear up his knees or god forbid get paralyzed (worst case scenario). I don't know, I just don't see why a guy with a good gig lined up would it give it up for the chance to do mop-up duty for a few preseason games...
