Branden Albert, NFL’s No. 1 Rated Tackle

I really want to see Turner getting playing time now he's back. The kid is our future at guard.

After two games it doesn't prove anything expect the two new tackles are more than holding their own so far.

I think that's positive don't you guys ?

We got lots of problems but so far tackle ain't one of them.
Truthfully I don't trust any of the ratings but it's a positive article so i posted it.
After last game I need something encouraging.

I was just going to say something along these lines because Albert should have manhandled Hughes but as he said it, "I was not dominant."

But its really nice to know we have found a RT in the draft.

Imagine if Jeffy had people skills & was smart enough to listen to Joe and acquire BA before the 2013 season?

Other then that holding call week 1 i havent seen James do a thing wrong, never get pressured from the outside and is a good run blocker to boot.

Kudos to Dennis.

Watching the game you can see them excelling...James is very fluid in his movements and has a "feel" for the position and does something well that Vets do (recover).

Suddenly we have 3 pro bowl caliber players on the line. Although I suppose last year we had two. Hurry back Billy turner and fix the RG position!

What you said:

What I heard:

I think you have to take PFF as not a joke but also not the bible. Pretty obvious are tackles are playing well but hard to say how they stack up vs the rest of the league . Honestly I wasn't worried about Jsmes after I read Tedslims write up on him where he called him "absolutely the right pick". He's been right do far as James is an exceptional pass blocker and also has probably the best track record of anyone on the site. This doesn't bode well for the true blur Tannehill supporters :=(.

Philbin and Hickey did an outstanding job identifying Albert, and then attracting him and making it happen. They didn't go down the Veldheer, Monroe zone. They picked Albert, sold him, and signed him. He's been lights out.

Same deal with Ju'Wan James. They saw the traits in him they wanted and they got him.

Bookend tackles.

So in this thread we have:

- PFF is good.
- PFF sucks at QB but good at OT.
- PFF has Albert right, so they're right, 'cuz I like him.
- PFF sucks period.

How about:

PFF is better than most if not EVERY wannabe analyst who deduces and states the level of play with such wisdom as, "he sucks...we didn't win." Or, "he's garbage, all-time elite players at the position are better." They're not gospel, but they're solid IMHO.

Then again, I knew all this before clicking on this thread...

How about I'm not a fan of PFF player ratings and I've been on record saying that for a while now, even when they agree with me or are generous to players I happen to like and think are good?

I freely admit that I haven't watched the tackle play on all 31 teams closely and therefore, I can't comment on if PFF is on the right track or wrong track with this assessment. Albert has been good. I don't know if he's been the best tackle in the NFL, but I can see with my eyes that he's been very good.

I never post stats from PPF so i'll let you guys decide if they are accurate or not.

This article was on the WQAM web site and it was positive for the team so I posted it.
Was hoping for discussion on our two new tackles even if the ratings were only after two games and just one sites take on them.

So far i get the tackles are playing well but PPF suks.
I'm good with that :)

Albert's been as advertised...awesome. 2 games does not a season make, but so far so great.
