Brandon Gibson odd man out ?

+1.

This team is starving for elite talent and play makers, so lets cut one of the bright spots from last year.

For what? Binns? FH's latest Training Camp HOF.

Last year it was Devlin, who's next?

Well, in all honesty if we take into account play during the season Gibson was the most consistent.

Sure, we can blame play calling and Tannehill can't hit Wallace deep when he has a 3 step lead on the CB.

Short answer, yes. Gibson was the best WR on this squad last year.

Binns is gonna be Great. He may have not done anything in 3 years but this is the one when he really shows something. He will not make the team.

You honestly think he's our best receiver? HONESTLY?

I don't know about that but I would say he was our best football player on offense, that play where he tried to extend the ball into the endzone but pulled it back before the defender knocked it out of his hands told me all I need to know on that front.

Doubt it but if they want to get Landry rolling from the jump could happen...I'd wait to get thru training camp and the preseason and see where the wr core is health wise before I'd do anything...

I do want to get Jarvis Landry as many game snaps at wr as possible...

Gibson counts $3.7M on this years cap, and we would save $1.7M by trading or cutting him.

We would save $2.7 million if we cut him.

If we keep him for 2014, his cap hit is $3.7M. If we cut him, his cap hit is reduced to $1.0M. Still not worth cutting him imo...

*edit: Nevermind, I just realized he had a $3M bonus over 3 years, so yea, its only $1.7M we would save

Gibson was definitely our most dependable WR before he went down. If he gets cut, it is because of injury, no way otherwise.

Mel Gibson? Work on your material.

I'd like us to keep him depending on the injury situation. Was devistated when he went out last year. I do hope Binns & Matthews step up and produce. But I think those are the two on the bubble.

Wallace
Hartline
Gibson
Matthews
Landry

I will be shocked if this is not opening day WR roster on the 53.

he played better than any wr on the roster last season. Best? No. But performed best and deserves to stay.

My question is why the heck would we cut him? When has having too many WR options been a problem? Considering we saw how much of an impact BG's injury was when he went down. I dont see why ther are posts about us wanting to cut or trade WRs for picks...How great would it be to always have a fresh GOOD WR come in for Wallace or Hartline or Landry when they're in need of rest, as oppsoed to a rookie or unproven player like Binns. I want Binns to go great for us, but hes unproven and we at least know BG was on track to put up good numbers before the injury. Lets keep them ALL and have a great passing attack, as opposed to trying to cut one or trade one for picks that will bring 0 value to us now. Plus its not like we need to clear cap space, we can always do that next off season if one of htem underperforms.

if Miami were to get rid of Gibson, i would rather trade him for something. even if it's a late round pick.

Yep why not package Gibson in a trade. I don't know if Andre Johnson would be realistic, but why not make some inquiries?

I'd definitely keep Gibson. I am interested in his health re coming back from the surgery, but no way would I be rushing to cut him. If fully healthy, I'd even cut Thigpen, Matthews, Hazel, Binns and Damian Williams before Gibson. Joe Philbin expressly wanted Gibson last season and he was contributing well until injured. The addition of Jarvis Landry enables all sorts of things but my tempation would be to ease him in rather than rush him along as the designated slot receiver. We have a bit of a luxury of riches at WR, but Gibson is a keeper.
