Brandon Gibson on road to recovery

He did a nice job last year.

I know this sounds really stupid, but the Fins game at Foxboro changed when Gibson went out. The Pats had no answer for Gibson. Yes, the Wallace drop, sack of RT and subsequent missed FG by Sturgis is the ultimate momentum breaker. However, Gibson was a stud in that game.
Hayden - I agree 100%. We were in control in that game until Gibson got injured and then a series of events rapidly turned it for New England and Brady pounced and exerted his leadership. Belichick talked in his Press Conference about the wind and how the Patriots used it in the 3rd quarter. Sturgis' miss may also be partly due to the wind gusts, that were erratic. Circumstances went against us, but losing Gibson reduced our options.
I look forward to seeing Gibson 100% healthy. We need him.

It would be surprising if the Dolphins part ways with Gibson, considering he was very effective before his injury. (GM Jackson --- a distant cousin of GM Salguero --- would definitely keep him even if he’s not 100 percent by the start of the season.)

But JSYK (just so you know), his cap hit is $3.7 million if he’s on the team and $2 million if he’s not.

Gibson, who tore his patellar tendon in Week 8 against the Patriots, is doing light jogging and told ESPN recently that he “definitely” will be back for the opener.

He was "watching from his coach" was he? Typical ESPN. It's spelled couch. As in Tim Couch. He wasn't sitting on his coach's shoulders watching the game. Mis-spelling still up at the site a week later.

All I heard before now is how the injury isn't as bad as an ACL, but the fact that him being ready by opening day was mentioned is both weird and scary to me.

We need him for training camp. I loved the chemistry he and Ryan had going.

That was my first thought too, is he expecting to be ready to play week 1, or will he still have to catch up on all the conditioning, practice, learning the new playbook (by actually executing the plays in practice) etc that he missed in the off/preseason? There's a difference between the two

Gibson was our best receiver last year before he went down. The way he battled for extra yards and his nose for the endzone was something our wr's lacked at the end of the year.

And that dive where he got helicopter flipped into the endzone and landed on his feet was sick. He was way better than I think people expected him to be.

Its why I laugh at those that think some of these camp bodies
being signed are a threat to replace Gibson.
His ability to work inside out and his chemistry with RT make
him far superior to anything being brought in via FA.

I think if Gibson, Keller, and Binns would have all stayed healthy last year could have been a much different season. And that is saying a lot after the mess the OL went through.

What, has Binns done to come to such a
conclusion?

Good to hear, but every player this time of year is "on track" to rehabbing last years injuries. Let's hope he returns to his old self.

Came across this Gibson TD, putting his body out there. Hope he can recover fully, we need his efforts.

I want him back when he's healthy. Perfect 3 or 4 guy in the WR rotation. Him and Ryan were really starting to click when he got hurt.

@MiamiDolphins: Hickey on the WRs: We've got a lot of talent there (but) we’re going to use a lot of receivers & we all know that you need play makers.

A recent tweet a couple hours ago.. Not directly related to Gibson, but reciever chatter none the less..

Holy crap, did our GM just acknowledge our dire need for playmakers? I am about to weep with joy!

It's hard to translate "Speak" sometimes....

But I have been in the position where you can only watch and can't help.
It ****ing sucks.

It particularly sucks when you haven't had to do it before.

What I like is that he wants to get back and help.

Good guy, better player. If he comes back as good as he was last year he will be an important piece in miami for many years to come

I always liked gibson, even when the entire forum randomly decided to take a disliking to him this time last year
