Hayden - I agree 100%. We were in control in that game until Gibson got injured and then a series of events rapidly turned it for New England and Brady pounced and exerted his leadership. Belichick talked in his Press Conference about the wind and how the Patriots used it in the 3rd quarter. Sturgis' miss may also be partly due to the wind gusts, that were erratic. Circumstances went against us, but losing Gibson reduced our options. He did a nice job last year.
I know this sounds really stupid, but the Fins game at Foxboro changed when Gibson went out. The Pats had no answer for Gibson. Yes, the Wallace drop, sack of RT and subsequent missed FG by Sturgis is the ultimate momentum breaker. However, Gibson was a stud in that game.
I look forward to seeing Gibson 100% healthy. We need him.
