No formal announcement has been made, but Mike McCoy is leaving Denver to become the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

Dolphins missed out on Jeff Fisher and decided to go for younger, hungrier, (cheaper), coach. McCoy had support of GM Jeff Ireland.

Still don't see what the 'Fins see in him, but congrats to Bronco o-coordinator Mike McCoy on apparent hiring in MIA. Lookin like Gase to OC

Mike McCoy the mastermind behind the "Tebow Offense" is going to be the Miami Dolphin's head coach. He will be a hard offensive coordinator for the Broncos to replace.

Dolphins landed Mike McCoy it sounds like. Great hire, solid coach.

Wow. Seems pretty trustworthy.
I sure hope he works out. I think he can. Think being on his own and away from Fox will only help him more. And a QB that is more accurate. Behind McCoy 100% now if he is in fact our new coach.

It looks like Gary Miller is basing this off of the Rosenhause report:

Agent Drew Rosenhaus says Mike Mccoy will be named Dolphins coach. Miami media believes McCoy is front runner. No official announcement yet.

And that first link doesn't exactly leave me in a good move. The author immediately followed up the news with the following:

"Good riddance."

This just in.... **** is going to hit the fan with many posters saying what a horrible hire this is...

These are breaking news reports . Cmon you are usually much better than this no offense.

Yep, the Denver fan forums are just like here, 2 sides to everything. Seen plenty of support for him too, but this guy just didn't want to include that in his agenda driven, non-journalistic approach. We shall see how he does.

Being serious, I hope that he comes in and sheds some of the preconceived notions about him and being vanilla and run first. If not, I hope that he hires on hell of a DC... Wonder if this means that we keep Daboll on as OC...

It is spreading like wild fire among Broncos media.

LOL at mastermind behind the tebow offense lol. Anyone that thinks that was a good offense just did not watch Denver play. Nothing to do with liking or hating McCoy but this offense would go quarters without even moving the ball

Yawn

I think it's more of a stunned Denver could even win a game or score at all with the crew they had.

I am going to make this statment that the coaches that we have brought in since Parcells have been an improvement. So while I really am not sold on McCoy it make me wonder if those coaches were Ireland or Sporano hiring. I hated seeing Nolan go. If McCoy is the guy maybe his ego of being older and jumped over for head coach got to him. If not maybe he knew McCoy from the Denver days as a bad hire. I know lots of maybes but I was not sold on elevating the specials teams assistant to head special teams coach but that worked out and Daboll while not superior in any way as an offensive coordinator worked out much better than I believed. Think about the chunk plays we had last year compared to others. These last 2 drafts which I believe were Ireland while not producing hall of famers were very solid in the first few rounds compared to those first 2 draft of Parcells. We really no longer doubled down after those first couple of draft even John Jerry looked decent this year last years 3 round pick. The free agent pick ups these past 2 years have not been busts Gurnett, Dansby, Marshall even Mitchell have played well. Yes I know no QB ut Moore played well compared to what many of us thought. The only hold over that we continued to have problems with were with the offensive line but that was on Sporano and his line coach 2 guys we never replaced. Anyway not sold on more of this churning but take a step back and think about it.
