the dolphins are the most dysfunctional franchise in sports. hes got 16 million reasons to sign in miami......and we had to overpay for a 30 yr old cb for him to stay here.

I totally disagree on over paying. Brent is worth we got.

Awesome news but wow 8 mil is a lot!! I hope he can maintain his level of play for 4 more more years... Isn't he getting up there in age though?

A lot of money but that is the market value. 2 years ago we spent $5M on Richard Marshall (who?) and last year $5M on Dimitri Patterson, who was good but missed lots of games because of his groin injury. In comparison, the differential is not huge and we have a Pro Bowl CB with good character who wants to play for the team. I'm delighted that he re-signed.

Overpay? Heck, I thought we got him for a great price! The guy is worth it for the work he does on the field, IMO.

With the market increasing for just about every position how and the heck are teams going to afford a starting roster with quality players?? I think the overall Cap needs to be raised so teams can keep their developed players past their rookie contracts. I want to see some continuity on our roster and actually draft well so we have our own guys that we developed (much cheaper this way) instead going crazy on unproven players like Wheeler (starting to hate this guy), Ellerbe, Wallace (i still believe in the guy but sorry not for 60mil), etc.. the list can go on and on.. it's pathetic, time we statt drafting impact players!!! Hickey I swear to god you best not F this up!!!
