Omar Kelly report...next.

so true.
yes, Omar they have incredibly talented player at TE, a position of need, and they're not going to play him. they think he is so valuable that they will only let him practice so no one grabs him from the practice squad? oy

I don't know about you guys, but I believe Omar might be on to something. I have been to many of the practices and I have seen this kid play in practice. He flashes ALOT. Stretched the field, split the seam, caught everything thrown to him with his hands, and he was FAST. I kept thinking I was seeing a fast version of Jason Witten, but I thought "Wait, --this is the Dolphins I am watching. They were never this fast."

Maybe they have special offensive packages for this kid and need to keep him (officially) on the PS and activate him just before the Pats game. Don't know really, just speculating. But damn, this kid can PLAY!

I enjoy reading positive post here... The few, the proud, the optimist finheaveners....

Thanks. I have my critical times but usually keep the harsh opinions to myself. I see far too much unwarranted "Sky is falling/The whole world sucks" attitudes on here, and the Groupthink that comes from hundreds of people playing lemming behind the few vociferous negative fans here. No need for rants today... But I am the eternal optimist when it comes to the Phins.

<Start new rant> Sidebar: When a person is negative towards something they are passionate about (e.g. their football team) and their team disappoints them, the disappointment feeds and rewards their negativity, to the extent the negativity can infiltrate their lives (i.e. give them a bad attitude - cause them to lose their job, which causes an argument at home, causing them to hit the spouse, causing them to go to jail, not pass GO, and not collect $200). Personally, I would rather be positive (optimistic) and become disappointed in my teams lack of success and say "Next time!" That keeps me positive, centered, and grounded. And then when my team has success, the reveling is that much sweeter. There is too much other life garbage that wants to accompany negativity - rather not keep that around. </End new rant>

why would we hide Brackett if he was that good? it's not like we're blessed with athleticism at that position. if he's really that good, just keep him. period

exactly. if he is that good, he wouldn't be going to the practice squad

Omar is theorizing the Phins want to hide him so they can stash him on the P-squad. If other teams get limited looks of him, they are less likely to claim him (in theory).

So we would hide him so we could put him on the PS, and then keep such studs as Epps and Mastrudd in his place....

I don't buy it. If he is good...you cut Epps or Mastrudd and keep Brackett.

Not that he is that good, they see the potential and want to keep him around. We probably will end up only carrying two TE's.

i think it would be dumb to only carry two tight ends on the roster.
You got teams that run three tight end sets.
You got this team that wants to have a power run game.
You got teams like the jets and patriots and the dolphins team 2 years ago
that tightends do lots of damage those defenses..
When you got an iffy qb Nothing like a big target to help you out..
I think they need to have a tight-end that can really block and two good pass catching tight ends
this kid from the reports can do both so im hoping they try to show him in the game if he can do it
He may need to bulk up a bit but this team needs more talent than fasano at the position..

I would think if we want to develop this guy maybe we should I don't know.. give him game experience and a roster spot to ensure he isn't snagged. He's obviously not a secret anymore since Omar is just putting this **** out there.

I hope we get this kid on the field...i mean we have 4 other TEs on the roster who could easily be cut and replaced with this kid. I might not know much about the other guys but besides Epps the rest of our TEs look below average. Why not develop this kid?
