Brett Brackett... The Dolphins Hiding A TE That Can Stretch The Field???

For some reason or another this regime has a phobia of Scouting/Drafting/Trading for a Top TE or QB.

So you have a guy who played 2 positions in college, neither of which is the position he's going to play in the NFL. Instead of getting him valuable playing time in the pre-season games so that he can possibly be ready to contribute to the team in the regular season, we're going to hide him and unleash his raw potential on NE ? Or hide him so he can get valuable playing time in next year's pre-season games?

I am going to start a twitter and claim random camp fodder is something special and watch them become Finheavens next Brandon London and Joey Sheets!

I think if he wasnt doing well why would he still be here? They havet said anything about him in some time and have seen Nothing on him in pre season games. I hope they are stashing him and somehow becomes alot like Gates.

He was one of the UDFAs I thought could make the 53, He is a WR that grew into being a TE.

He is tall, runs fast and has good hands.

Something a little fishy is here IMO.

Omar is theorizing the Phins want to hide him so they can stash him on the P-squad. If other teams get limited looks of him, they are less likely to claim him (in theory).

Omar is a moron who cares what he says....

So they would rather not test the talent in preseason games, but instead hope to develop on the practice squad? I wonder why they wouldn't they give a player (who seemingly/reportedly) could fill a huge hole as playmaking vertical TE threat a shot?

Its not the coaches are worried about keeping their jobs...................

Via Twitter: "Omar Kelly: RT "@becker1313: Is Brett Brackett still flashing at all?" » That dude is in the witness protection program. They are hiding him big time."

Why would the Dolphins hide an extremely athletic rookie TE (former WR) like Brackett? Do you think there is any validity to this theorem? Would they potentially save him for special packages again the Pats? Anyone have any input or heard anything about this?

Not much video on him as WR, but more as a captain on that team at Penn ST.

yeah it's the PS argument. I know the Packer coaching staff was livid when we signed Ty Culver and Joey Haynos (both guys they wanted to stash on PS)

I can see why they are trying to hide Brackett; He's 6'6 240 and has 4.4 speed (ok probably not that fast, probably 4.6), but he is raw as hell. He went to Penn State as a QB, moved to WR (ironically, because of Pat Devlin committing to Penn State), but grew too big to be a WR.

Honestly if they like him that much, no other TE has separated themselves, and Charles Clay is gonna be FB/H-Back/Whatever, why not keep him? He went to PSU so he knows how to block.

Of course, the John Nalbone thing might be screwin with them

They are not hiding this guy the whole league knew his 40 time. I think people like to rationilize too much why a player is not on field. maybe he isnt that damn good

who the **** is Brett Brackett??? I bet he Blows too.

I/m/o, you'd be wrong. I'm glad MIAMI managed to get him.

As far as hiding him on the P/S, forget it! Even limiting his playing time won't get it done: there are no secrets in Pro football anymore. Someone will give him a chance if he's put on the P/S. He did well at PENN STATE last year, and everyone who SHOULD know DOES know THAT fact. So, if they now see a TE w/size, and enough speed that he was a WR at first, who was 240 to begin with, at least one of them will sign him up.

Not that he is that good, they see the potential and want to keep him around. We probably will end up only carrying two TE's.

well, why not play him if he has potential then? none of the guys ahead of him have that much potential that should keep him away from the field.

i don't think we have our three TE's yet, but i definitely think we'll keep 3. we're going to see a lot of 2 TE formations with Daboll. we better have some depth there.

this here is the brevity that speaks what could be going on here.

First off, I am not an Omar fan at all. But since he is a reporter, and he notices something in practice, but not in games, and this regime is known for stashing guys and turning over rocks and they know they just dont have room for another TE on this roster because they have a bigger picture need in mind, then I dont see why this cannot be true.

It is a shot in the dark, but wouldnt be the least bit suprised if he is on PS. I have seen more epps than anyone else. Last year, Mass turd came in on roster in desperation, which also just shows how less of a team we had last year compared to this year IMO.
