Omar is theorizing the Phins want to hide him so they can stash him on the P-squad. If other teams get limited looks of him, they are less likely to claim him (in theory).
So they would rather not test the talent in preseason games, but instead hope to develop on the practice squad? I wonder why they wouldn't they give a player (who seemingly/reportedly) could fill a huge hole as playmaking vertical TE threat a shot?
Via Twitter: "Omar Kelly: RT "@becker1313: Is Brett Brackett still flashing at all?" » That dude is in the witness protection program. They are hiding him big time."
Why would the Dolphins hide an extremely athletic rookie TE (former WR) like Brackett? Do you think there is any validity to this theorem? Would they potentially save him for special packages again the Pats? Anyone have any input or heard anything about this?
yeah it's the PS argument. I know the Packer coaching staff was livid when we signed Ty Culver and Joey Haynos (both guys they wanted to stash on PS)
I can see why they are trying to hide Brackett; He's 6'6 240 and has 4.4 speed (ok probably not that fast, probably 4.6), but he is raw as hell. He went to Penn State as a QB, moved to WR (ironically, because of Pat Devlin committing to Penn State), but grew too big to be a WR.
Honestly if they like him that much, no other TE has separated themselves, and Charles Clay is gonna be FB/H-Back/Whatever, why not keep him? He went to PSU so he knows how to block.
Of course, the John Nalbone thing might be screwin with them
who the **** is Brett Brackett??? I bet he Blows too.
Not that he is that good, they see the potential and want to keep him around. We probably will end up only carrying two TE's.
