Haven't heard many people talking about the new OC in the first preseason game. I know its only one game but i really like this scheme of actually seeing the shotgun more then once or twice a game,Also his theory of an aggressive offense and not being afraid to take a chance on 4th down. To see a coordinator down on the sideline is nice. It's a lot easier to get input from his receivers on what they are seeing out of the coverage and certain tidbits and not only having the QB to speak with . I definitely see this a big upgrade over the conservative henning offense and letting the QB's take the shot at long throws.

In the limited time he was in against Atlanta it seems like Henne's mechanics haven't improved. He has the worst play action fake in football, in my opinion.

Then again thats something you can't teach in two weeks.

I expect a lot of work out of the shotgun for Henne from Daboll. We only got a taste of it on Friday.

I absolutely slammed the hire when it happened, but so far in one game his schemes seem to actually resemble a modern NFL offense. Which is a huge upgrade from the archaic philosphies of Henning.

Im sure through preseason last year nobody was complaining about Henning throwing the ball downfield. The big poblem we had all last preseason and in game 1 this preseason was running the football.

Brian Daboll's vanilla preseason offense is 10x more exciting than anything Henning did in the regular season last year.

then maybe we should throw more then we run. That would really bring us into the modern age of football.

A ****roach would be an improvement over Henning. Literally.

That said, I'm not sure if what we saw on Friday was any real indication of the offensive scheme they'll be running during the season. I think the goal was to put individual players in certain situations to see how they do.

Problem is if we cant run defenses can basically know what we are doing on crucial plays. I see alot of passing to the runningbacks this year which is good but I also dont think we will run the ball well this year. LIne below average, Bush not great at running between tackles and Thomas rookie . Also we can throw all day but we dont have a good qb on the roster at this point so that might nit win alot of games either.

yeah, he's on the sideline callin plays. I like that better cus he will be in their ear all day.

I have never seen us in 5WR before. That says something. But we didnt see much in the way of the plays we will run. I hope it stays vanilla throughout preseason. I think the Patriots are going to be surprised in our offense but they will know daboll from NE and Cleveland. This is why the henne pick is a bit unfair cus that set was bland 2wr set with Hback TE. He stared down bess cus that play was clearly designed to go to bess in that bland play. Daboll will be correcting that crap but also when the real offense gets implemented completely, then there wont be alot of staredowns if daboll can help it. too much spread out talent IMO. Gates will clearly make this offense powerful and all WR's should do well.

I think this offense will be exciting and much more power in red zone.

From what he showed i loved it,

but not only to mention that we've only had 10 practices worth of a new playbook to see, i also think we wont show many of the unique plays of the book in the preseason

You open the running game by throwing the ball. As much as they have played with this OL and still can't run it is getting to the point where they are pounding a square nail into a round hole. With Henning, defenses knew what was coming. Daboll may leave them off balance.
