He's a Buckeye...and as all 'still-bitter Canes fans' know...all Buckeyes suck.

YPC is over rated. Getting open and catching the ball is what is important. If you need to make two extra yards for the 1st down then you either rana bad route or a poor route was called.

Last season our QBs only threw for 20 TDs. Marshall managed to catch 6 on 81 receptions. Fasono caught 5 on 32 receptions. That is more then half of the TDs right there. Hartline ran one of his only 35 receptions for 1 TD, I do not remember him dropping any in the endzone because he did not get that many chances.

The year before in 2010 we only threw for 17 TDs. Fasono caught 4 of them and Marshall had 3. Fasano btway caught as many TDs in 2 seasons as Marshall did with less then 50% of the receptions and almost no drops. Hartline had the longest pass reception of any Dolphin WR.

In both 2009, 2010 and 20111 Hartline lead all Dolphins in Yards per reception so if he is so slow that must mean the rest of our WRs suck.

Maybe, just maybe if we threw over 40 passes to him a season including some when we are in the RedZone, he might have more receptions and touchdowns.

I definitely don't back way from my Jordy Nelson "light" comparison for B.H. I would like to see him stay upright a little bit more but regardless very underrated Wr! Great Hands, Deceptive speed and route running

Hartline would do better than Jordy Nelson in the GB offense imo, he has everything you're looking for in a west coast type receiver, I don't understand why he gets so much hate around here...

I think Jordys is quicker, faster and overall bigger

I do agree with the bigger part, but the quickness and speed is almost parallel. Jordy might edge Hartline out just a little bit.

Hartline isn't the biggest, fastest or strongest guy, but he finds a way to get open quite a bit. Did you see some of those timing routes he ran in that video? The WCO is all about timing and space, and Hartline has shown an ability to get the timing right as well as get space.

He also did a GREAT job of shielding defenders away from him. Hartline seems like a jack of all trades to me. He's not great at anything, but he's good in just about every part of his game. Above average quickness and speed, good at picking balls off the turf, can make a spectacular catch, has the awareness to make a move after he catches a ball (when he's not falling down), boxes out defenders so only he can get the ball, runs nice routes.

While Hartline may not be a specialty receiver, he's definitely a guy that can stay on the field for all three downs.

Oh i completely agree! I except Hartline to excel more under this coaching staff than any other returning player.

I've made that same observation here about a month ago speculating that based on a similar size, clean route running and reliable hands, Philbin sees something of Jordy in Hartline, especially in context to the WC offense. And as such, consistent with his vision, there was no urgency to draft a WR in the early rounds.

Hartline should be good enough to be possession/3rd down receiver with a pretty good qb throwing at him.

One thing I like about Hartline is he has excellent footwork along the sideline...the way he is able to drag his feet as he makes the catch going out-of-bounds, beautiful.

Before we can consider Hartline a good receiver, he needs to make more headlines on ESPN. He needs to show he is willing to do what it takes to be a number 1 receiver. Everyone knows the quality of wr play is determined by how many headlines you have on ESPN. Axe or other cheesy commercial help too. Time for him to FINALLY step up.

Those catches of his are our only ESPN/NFL Channel high lights.

Definetly need to work on how to get YAC...is it routes? Is it the gym?, Is it his lack of spark, or quickness? His hand are amazing, but his separation and elusiveness isn´t. He´s hitting the deck in almost every catch, how much of that was Henne´s fault, is the question, but even on deep routes, catch, and slam to the floor... Couldn´t even outrun Ball from Dallas, who´s as bad as can be...We have good posssesion pass catchers, but it´s a Gates type WR who we desperately need the most!! Is Gates the guy? Hasn´t shown anything yet. I was hoping for a stud MLB or S in next year´s draft, but best WR available might be the biggest need!!

Seriously doubt it. Cam Wake is no spring chicken and I have my doubts about Vernon. If any of the top 4 pass rushers are there when we pick in the 1st, I fully expect a DE/OLB pass rusher.

I'm listening to people suggest that Brian Hartline is a similar player in ability to Brandon Marshall.
I hope you people remember who you are when its time to eat crow.

I think Reggie Bush could be even better. I am also expecting big things from Charles Clay.
