Good job CK.....You make a great point, this system could be large for Hartline.

The system can make all the difference, look at what playing in New England's system did for Welker.

This guy had nothing to do with it....

you forgot hartline can't hold nelsons jock...

Some on this board would have you believe that they have a similar skill set, which is a joke. Nelson is 6-3 220 with speed, serious strength to break tackles nd leaping ability. The guy can do it all.
Hartline is 6-2 200 (soaking wet) is quick but not fast, can get open sometimes but he isn't beating anybody for a jump ball when covered, and he goes down when hit with a stiff wind. There is not much comparison to me besides skin color.

yeah because jordy nelson was jordy nelson his first three years.

Definetly need to work on how to get YAC...is it routes? Is it the gym?, Is it his lack of spark, or quickness? His hand are amazing, but his separation and elusiveness isn´t. He´s hitting the deck in almost every catch, how much of that was Henne´s fault, is the question, but even on deep routes, catch, and slam to the floor... Couldn´t even outrun Ball from Dallas, who´s as bad as can be...We have good posssesion pass catchers, but it´s a Gates type WR who we desperately need the most!! Is Gates the guy? Hasn´t shown anything yet. I was hoping for a stud MLB or S in next year´s draft, but best WR available might be the biggest need!!

The problem with the YAC is that most of the balls thrown to him last year were horribly placed, both Henne's throws and Moore's. He had to fall down to catch about half of them, and was constantly having to slow down or go back to get the ball, because Moore was under throwing it.

he was way more talented than hartline i can tell ya that...i remember when i was watching matt flynn tape this last offseason before free agency when i thought for sure that flynn would be a dolphin if we didn't get manning...jordy nelson was straight killin cats at the los getting off press straight beasting guys with his strength and using his body to shield off defenders from the ball and high pointing the deep verticals to come down with the ball...stiff arming cats into the ground...none of these thing has brian hartline ever shown evidence he can do...none of em...

any brian hartline jordy nelson talk is a joke...hartline may well make more plays in this o cause it does cater to wrs and we will be running a ton of plays in this o but he's not gonna morph into something he's not...and he's not a jordy nelson i can tell ya that

I noticed a few days ago on twitter Omar asking CK to make a Hartline vid.

Nicely done. Kudos to our budding in house star video editor!

I'm not 100% sure why Hartline is being compared to J Nelson, I guess because they are both white.

But you get what you pay for, Nelson was a 2nd round pick and Hartline was a 4th.

Hartline does have speed, in HS track, the person that beat him in the hurdles was Ted Ginn.

IMO, you cannot compare WRs on different teams whose QB are wildly different. J Nelson and W Welker have played with All Pro, MVP QBs. The Dolphins have had Chad Henne and Matt Moore. Tom Brady's and Aarron Roger's QB rating have been 25 points or more higher then our QBs.

Comparing B Hartline and B Marshall as Dolphin WRs.

3 years as a Dolphin: B Hartline...109 catches, 195 targeted, 55.89% comp, 1670 yards, 499 RAC, 15.32 YPC, 8.56 YPA, 5 TD catches...equates to a 92.9 QB rating (assuming 0 interceptions) Over his 3 years seasons with the Dolphins, Hartline has had a 4.57 YAC average.

2 years as a Dolphin: B Marshall...167 catches, 315 targeted, 52.6& comp, 2228 yards, 544 RAC , 13.34 YPC, 7.07 YPA, 9 TD catches...equates to a 83.8 QB rating (counting the one interception I'm sure about) Over his 2 seasons with the Dolphins, Marshall has had a 3.47 YAC average.

Yes but he ran a few times the few years before.

that's more element of surprise than playmaker production...anyways now we praise hartline for not being a puss like ted ginn...who always looked for the easy route out...standards have dropped i guess

whatever floats your boat i guess

Where Hartline will struggle is breaking then separating from press coverage, a crucial element in a WCO.
