I happen to think Brian Hartline is a very good reciever with huge upside. The guy has great hands. I don't understand anybody bashing this guy.

Agreed, you have to double cover him or he can go off and get 200 yards on you.

agree, i think he can put up decent numbers in a west coast offense. Bess and Hartline arent great but i think they can get the job done in the right system.

He's been here for 3 years, started for two of them opposite Marshall and has seen single coverage in every game. He's done nothing. He had 1 TD last year and it won't get any easier for him now that Marshall is gone.

But you forgot about his upside....LOL

200 yards he says...how bout a 100 yard game...or a multi td one...ha ha

if he's our #1 puke

Hartline will never be embraced by the elite talent evaluators on this site. It doesn't help that he's a Buckeye, and a lot of forum members are still bitter about the '03 National Championship game.

start praying that edmund gates takes a giant leap this year cause if he doesn't this wr core gives the browns and jags and rams group a run for its money as one of the leagues worst...

I have always liked Hartline..

He has good hands and has really good body control. He needs to make more plays but he was targeted a whole lot since Marshall got here..Now do I know if he is getting open? No I dont..Maybe he is having trouble getting seperation but I do recall Henne over throwing him by a mile a few times. For a guy that was a 4th round draft pick he has contributed very nicley and has made plays.

What has he done for you to feel comfortable about him probably being our #2 WR? People love to point out when others are negative, but when questioned about real life its always a wait and see, or and "only if..." situation. He just isn't a great WR and wouldn't make it as a #3 wr on most teams.

I could care less what he did in college.

Meh. Good yards after the catch guy. Makes some acrobatic catches. Unless he improves a bunch this offseason, he will never be anything more than a utility receiver.

He has a 15.3 career yards per catch...and its not like Miami has been throwing the ball all over the lot..we did air it out a bit more last year tho.

Exactly!!! We're talking about guy who in 3 years has yet to break the triple digit yard mark in a single game.
His career high receptions in a single game is 5 (week 11, 2010 season vs. Bears)
5 also happens to be the total of TD's he has in his whole career.

And this is supposed to strike fear into opposing defenses, how?

He's a great fit for this system. He has good hands, is a good route runner, and is faster than he looks. Right after Philbin was hired I said I thought he'd have a great year, and I think so even more now.
