Couple this news with Adam Schefter reporting on NFL Total Access that he believes Ronnie's deal will be done by the end of this week, and we actually, might, hopefully be finally making progress here, folks.
I hope.

Ah. Cool. I'm glad our QB's are looking better.

I couldn't read the link, as I don't have an account.

Its the Miami Herald... you should really set up an account. It is one of the biggest newspapers in south florida with the most dolphins coverage... it is free and only takes a second to set up...

Nice to hear of newson. I hope he plays well enough to kick Thompson right out of Miami.

As much as people on this MB hate Thompson... he is definatly better than Newson at this point...

That goes to show that are secondary is still suckin it up. Not a good sign.

Umm, didn't the article say it was a "perfectly" thrown ball and it could not have been better placed if Gus would have walked the ball down the field?

No where in there is that an indictment on the secondary. Since the reciever was Newson, it was probably the backups anyway.

That's an unfair assumption on your part.

Besides, I posted it to point out that it was a perfect pass by Gus. When a QB places a ball "perfectly," even the best corner will get beat.

thanks for the link, nub... i wonder why the team went with the slightly lower figure and one fewer year? six years and say 20-21 million is a more evenly spread cap hit than five years and 19.5, isn't it? i guess they're figuring they'll renegotiate down the road?

There's a limit to how many years they can spread the cap-hit for the signing bonus over, due to the Collective Bargaining Agreement not having been extended yet. Basically, teams can only spread cap hit over the years for which the current CBA is in effect.

oh, thank you. that makes some sense.

I sure hope he gave his mama a kiss goodbye, and is in route to South Fla as we speak!! Maybe just wishful thinking, but if it were me and I knew things were this close, I'd have my butt down here, ready to step on the practice field ASATDC!!!

Just made that up... means 'As Soon As The Deal Closes'

Finally, some progress. With the Edwards signing this should move along quickly. I'm interested in seeing what he can do on the field as much as everyone else is.

we all know he'll sign so why doesnt he just tell his agent to shove it up his a** and sign for 20 mill and get down here to start praticing, his body will be so weak and unprepared for the hitting and the beating he is about to recive.
