My bad, I thought he'd already signed.

I think the NFL needs a set rookie pay-scale for the first and possibly second round similar to that of the NBA. That way as soon as you're drafted you know the exact dollar amount you will be making and there's no holdout BS.

Having a first round pick hold out for too long can do terrible things for a team. Get him in camp by the end of the week. Now

So we don't get confused of who is and who isn't signed, here is the up to date list:

how about this... Trade brown for a first rounder next year. Give half of his would be bonus to Ty Law... We get by on Harris/Gordon/Minor first four games, then Ricky comes back... Then we established value for Ricky over the rest of the season, then at seasons end we trade him(will never forgive him for what he did) for consistent QB (Billy Volek TENN). Going into next years draft we will need a RB(D. Williams-Memphis, Bush-USC, Peterson-OK).... But we will have an est QB and Ty Law on top of what we already have... It sounds a little quirky but makes excellent sense!
Yea...makes sense if you smoke crack!!!:shakeno: Thank god you are not a GM or coach, no I take that back I wish you were a GM for the jets or patriots;)

Ronnie Brown should get paid what the 2nd pick is worth, if it's 22 mil in guranteed money, than he should get that. I find it odd that fans don't wanna pay him, what the 2nd pick generally gets. The player gets blamed, but management deserves blame also, if you didn't wanna pay for the 2nd pick, than they probably should've traded down. BTW, I believe Troy Williamson has verbally agreed to a contract.

yeah he's a holdout.

Technically he's not. A holdout assumes he has a contract in the first place to hold out from. Since a lot of the top 10 do not have contracts to begin with the term hold out is a pretty inaccurate statement. Easier for the media to say though ;p

Considering that most of the top 10 haven't signed yet I'm not too concerned. We heard all year it was going to be a challenge to sign the top 10 cause of the CBA and only being allowed to pro rate the signing bonus over 5 years.

there is no other term for a rookie that does not report to camp without a contract because "holdout" is the proper term and that is why it is used. if you are unfamiliar with the definition of "holdout" you can find it in the dictionary.

the more i see and hear about linehan's offense the more i think it does not rely on a single feature back to carry the ball 25 times a game. therefore, does any running back on our team hold the value of a huge contract like that?
i completely agree with you. exactly.

yeah but if other former unsigned rookies are in camp so should everyone else, including "the other guy".
