How many of you think we'd be a little more concerned about Brown not being signed if RW wasn't with us? The fact remains however that Ricky will miss the first 4 games and we'll be counting on Brown to carry the load. It's time they get his deal done.

its concerning a lil. but i still think lamar gordon starts over brown for the first 4 games. then it is rickys turn to step up.

You're not alone in that thought. You'd think Ronnie would want to make the most of his opportunity and get himself into camp quick. If he's not in by next week - he's hurting himself and his position with the team. There shouldn't be that much to haggle over the bar has been set.

brown will start on opening day he will be making to much money not too

He is hurting himself and this team. I've said this a dozen frickin times, but when you get a holdout rookie for anything beyond an inconsequential amount of time, it really ******s their development.

too much money is right. but i still say gordon over brown. lamar will know the system better and has more expierenced in the nfl than brown.

Experience in only part of the issue. Talent is the other part, and that's something that Ronnie Brown dwarf's Lamar Gordon in. Nothing against Lamar Gordon. He's a big fast back that is good when he has holes to run through, but he does very little to create for himself. He is also an indecisive runner, and I believe those that have attended camp can agree with that. He takes too many stutter steps in the backfield for my taste.

The thing is, when Ronnie Brown gets on the field, he will make an impact in both the running and passing game....an all around impact that will be greater than what either Ricky or Lamar can do as an all around player, IMO.

You are absolutely right about the bar being set, and their shouldn't be anything to haggle over. The problem is that I'm sure it's the Dolphins, and not Ronnie Brown, who aren't happy with where the bar is set and are trying to do the haggling.

Ronnie is doing NOTHING wrong in my eyes.....I can't imagine for a second that the Dolphins are offering a contract which would meet the precedant which the Niners set, and I refuse to blame Ronnie for not jumping at a contract which is below market value (however absurd any of us think that that value is).

Sort of like when Edgerrin James held out for 21 days as a rookie and then went on to win the rushing title that year????????

I'm sure he's getting an offer that will assure he will never, ever have to work any other job in his life and will be able to spend his "retirement" days jetting the world to numerous villas, sachas, cottages by the sea, and drive around in a different lambraghini for each day of the week if he so desires. He needs to get in camp.
