Brown's Holdout and the Fans

if brown only accepts 22M in guarenteed $ i'd rather trade him

Emmitt Smith held-out his rookie year for quite some time and he goes on to break the league rushing record and had over 900 yds. his rookie year. Yeah I would say people are overeacting just a tad bit.

That's true, If the player can't perfrom there is no reason for him to start, And I only said that Ronnie Brown will be at the top when he comes in to camp, I never said he be starting game 1. However I don't expect Ronnie to fail either. You and I believe the same thing, I guess I just didn't clarify myself well enough in my original post.

As for the guy who mentioned Carson Palmer, Carson was drafted to be the number one but however he didn't perform well enough to stay number 1 and it didn't help that Kitna had a comeback yea. Again, I perfectly agree that a player shouldn't play because of his draft status IF he can't cut it. I just said that he would come in at 1 and not start at the very bottom.

And As I said about Williams, I just read in the paper that the bucs new depth chart has him at number 1. See what I mean?

Palmer was not drafted to be the starting QB. Marvin said before training camp that he would not start a game that year. Kitna was the starting QB before camp started and that was never in question, so the comeback player of the year was after the fact. Palmer was drafted so that he could sit the bench and learn for a year

well its obvious by your sig and avatar that you'd think thats a smart move. But we drafted Brown to not only help us this year, but to be our man for the next 5-7 years atleast. Ricky, doesn't seem confident he'll want to play for more then a year or so more.

Really...id like to see the transcript where he said this. Marvin Lewis said there would be a fair competition. Kitna won.

You think if Palmer would have completley outplayed Kitna that he wouldnt of been starting?

Brown can't do anything to help until he gets that contract done and reports to camp. I guess being a good team for so long, this is something we haven't had to deal with. No one here is used to waiting for top draft picks to sign. It would be nice to have him on the field real soon.

brown should be in camp as soon as possible because ricky might be stealing his job from under his nose with solid play in training camp, along with gordon looking alright. he is losing out on playing time and when he comes into camp he will have to start at the bottom of the depth chart just like everyone else...
