Grier: My plan is I have no plan.

Magic 8 Ball GIF by Jim Gaffigan

So Arizona is the destination to not do similar ****?
At least it holds sentimental value as the team that drafted him. He also has a home there still. Not to mention they probably have a better chance to win a playoff game than we do. Not mad at Calais at all. Very happy he didn't bail out Grier.

i will raise you one, i think half of the looney bin could do better! throwing darts could do better. i am not kidding. it is harder NOT to have won a playoff game in 24 years than it is to have won a playoff game. miami is sitting on the longest streak of suck in the entire NFL, so that tells you how grossly incompetent the team has been. yes what they have pulled off by not winning a single playoff game in 24 years might actually be harder to do than winning a super bowl!
This is actually a good observation. A ridiculous amount of time without success to arrive where we are after a 5 year re-build: Nowhere. Quite possibly 3rd in our division this season, maybe last. If I owned a company that's success revolved around winning, I damn sure would have hired the best guys at the time to help me do it. If they failed, I would look for other guys. In Ross' defense, he has tried different HC's, but the guy with the longest tenure over this failure is still here. Mr. Grier must have pics of Ross, something on him to keep his job! Why not try and hire a #2 man to the GM in a successful organization? Could we be worse than mediocre? I am not of the belief that it is a sure thing Ross cans Mr. Grier if we don't make the plyoffs this season. I am sure McD will be gone if this happens, but not sold that Mr. Grier, the successful architect of a perennial playoff team is!

Just saw an article suggesting a Dolphins/Cardinals trade down in rd. 1.

There's plenty of speculation and guesswork going on pre-draft.

What if there is a "wink wink" deal going on with the Fins and red birds ... 🤔

What if Campbell was part of the wink ... I know, I know ... HE made the decision (wink wink)
Wlking round with a tinfoil hat are you

It's clear Grier is playing the compensation picks game again to the detriment of the team. He did this last season and that's how you end up with Skylar Thompson as your backup QB. This year he's decided that a 4th round pick is more valuable than having gaping holes at G, DT, CB and S.

You should only be playing the compensation pick game when you have a deep roster, not when you don't even have a viable starter at 4 f*cking positions.
And you let go a high-production guy who was not going to break the bank. Very surprised they did not give him a 1 yr. deal w/incentives and an option to pick up a 2nd yr. if incentives are met. I know he is a little long in the tooth, but he was in good shape and highly productive.

A lot of overreacting in this thread. Still have a dline with Seiler, Chop, Chubb and Phillips. Also, have a really good draft for dline talent. Put piss in your own cheerios over a 40 year old DT if you want to.
3 of your DLinemen are Edge. One is a midget, the other 2 are one twist away from injured reserve. Something about Mr. Grier and his propensity for getting oft-injured players. You need Big Nasties like Campbell in the middle to chew up blockers. Yes, we can draft a Big Nasty Rd. 1, but this will be at the expense of drafting a top-rated G, or Swingman in Rd. 1. So there you go. Mr. Grier playing chess again. This is like a 5 yr. old going up against Garry Kasparov. You keep your talented Big Nasty, vet team leader you already have in the bldg. at a reasonable price and draft a Guard with your top pick. You know, try to improve the WEAKEST part of your team 1st! The weakest part of your team for 15 yrs! (No, not buying Larry Borom as the 2nd coming of Keith Sims.)

Agree...and I get blasted constantly by some on here by saying Grier undervalues the trenches (on both sides).

Not sure why folks think going to Arizona is a downward move. Yes they're not good but still better than Miami. Didn't they come down here a couple months ago and beat Tua and the Fins?

In any event, if losing a 40 year old free agent DT that we had for one year is so catastrophic that just shows you where this team is at.

...or where some people's mindset are.

It is almost catastrophic if you want OLine in the 1st + 2nd rd.

Probably low balled him on the offer knowing they were inline for a 4th round compensation pick if he refused and signed elsewhere.
There’s a def likelihood
they lowballed him and if that word gets out this team is doomed
