Calling it now: Dolphins will go on a 5 game win streak...

I dunno. As much as I think the Chargers are always overrated and there should be a picture of Turner and Rivers next to Shottsy in the dictionary under chokers this doesn't seem like a good matchup for us. Because we are such a dumb team V-jax will likely be able to get Nolan Carroll and or the other member of the bobsy twins in Rashaad Jones whenever he wants simply by lining up on Carroll's side. No way we shadow him with Sean Smith, which would likely be our only hope, because Miami loves to let the offense dictate the matchups they want against us. I guess it's more interesting this way. Then there's gates, if he plays, who the ILB's we brought in to be coverage ILB's will not be able to cover. Even Randy McMichael will probably put together a revenge game vs us if Gates is out. Don't forget Tolbert, nothing like a back that's hard to tackle for a defense that can't tackle. Henne will have to have a 3+ TD game which he's done twice in his career. I don't see a win.

Colt McCoy had receivers running open all game and he overthrew a ton of passes, Rivers won't miss those throws.

Calling it now: You are wrong.

I think we are about 100x as likely to rip off a 5 game losing streak here than a 5 game winning one.

At this point, I hope you are right... The worst thing that could happen is if my prediction came true. But Sparano's Dolphins have a history of doing this... The schedule starting now is also very favorable for just this kind of thing to happen.

Dont get me wrong, this is a game the Chargers SHOULD win by multiple TDs, but like the Dolphins, the Chargers also have a history of tripping up against obviously inferior teams. I could see the same thing happening to the Chargers on Sunday that happened to the the Dolphins last week.

..you gotta think Burnett should be able to "call" a play or two for us...

That would be just our luck
And then collapse to finish 7-9.

After looking at the schedule, I just think this is how it will pan out. It fits our history.

San Diego almost lost to the hapless Chiefs and struggled with the winless Vikings. They are due for a let down against an inferior team.

Are you talking football ... or the more obvious Shuffleboard of his impending retirement? I can see him skinning the old coots 5 in a row & Fist Pumping in their faces!!

dont know about a win streak but gates is having hard time with his foot and poor phillip has thrown 6 interceptions already. any way you slice it, were desperate still. hey, carpenter, dont miss FG's man! we live by those!

Lucky for Rivers, we don't make picks. I read the op title and actually laughed out loud. Very surprising to read something here that speaks of optimism. I don't want us to lose, but just what says we will beat SD after losing to the Browns? It's at SD, and we couldn't win with Hillis out..
