Camp ending early?

stopping two a days completely, i don't know but it seems like a mistake to me when learning a new system with as many projects as we have on the team. Think they should have a least two 2 a days a week the next two weeks then rest alittle, but then again I'm not running the team, YET!!!

What the heck, let the players rest some, make sure there are no injuries. Makes some sense.

The guys have been working hard and it show during game time. Besides, they need to blow off some steam after the melee. Saban knows what he is doing and I think is great. Get some rest and then get after it again.

Well camp really hasn't done anything benficial because players still appear lazy and clueless on what they are supposed to do. I for one am not so impressed with the structure of camp. No hitting? you have to be kidding me, isn't this football? I am not willing to praise Saban no matter what idiotic thing he does, like ending camp early for a team that has looked nothing but unprepared for the season.

Huh? :bugeye:

Every review I've read has this as being one of the most efficient, well-run camps in the NFL this pre-season.

It backfired if our players don't know the system once the season starts.

But it's not like they won't still keep practicing, correct? THey just won't have 2 a days anymore. I think he's decided he's depth charts at RB and QB and maybe WR, so in the end the starters will get more playing time together to learn the system than they do now. The backups will be the ones who aren't learning the system. It's definitely more proof that Feeley is officially benched.

Two a days are for a reason. I believe Saban's seen all he's needs to see. He's already decided, as you say. There are wrinkles that need to be worked, and, those will be worked. It's senseless to beat people's heads agasint each other in South Florida needlessly when, we hope, the real battles will be this fall and winter, when, we traditionally fade.

At this point, I'm willing to give the new coach a chance at deciding the course of the team.

we are not watching the same team. :shakeno: I don't care what his hitting policy is,
there wasn't anything lacking in the way our D punked Jacksonville

It is only one missed outside practice what is the big friggen deal? It's value as an incentive could be large.

The only thing ending camp early does, is mean that the players will not be living in a hotel. The coach can still decide to have two practice sessions, if he feels that the players need it.

He doesn't need your praise or approval. He's a head coach of an NFL team, and he'll do what he wants. We aren't ending CAMP early, we're ending two-a-days earlier then expected.

Well tackling in practice is bad, leads to anger issues, tires out players, and leads to injuries. As a coach, i hate tackling just knowing at any moment the guys could be done for the season. By the time these guys get to the NFL they should know how to tackle, the hard part is getting them in the right position too tackle. most of these guys have been tackling at a high level for over 8 years. Not to say some tackling isn't nesacary, but if not needed 9/10 coaches will limit tackling in practice.
