Camp report day 3 night practice.

Interesting to hear the positive reports on Vickerson. I wonder if he is playing himself onto the team after all.

well, you gotta remember that saban wants guys that can play more than 1 position....a back up thing.........maybe, just maybe VC is holding it down and DMAC wont be starting at LT

Thats really good news, thanks, but I wonder why Travis Minor I hear has good practices, but then in games he doesnt do that well.

No major injuries (knock on wood)

-As for McIntosh I thought he did a fair job. I also watched Wade Smith closely when the 2nd team came in bc/ I'm interested if he can take McKinney's place, but honestly, he doesn't do much better then McKinney does. This team is very weak at the center spot, no question.

Outstanding Report!!! Thanks a ton.

McKinney. Crap what is wrong with this guy? They ought to try Hadnot at C and move St. Clair / D-Mac /McDougle to RT.

Thanks, I got my newest issue of Dolphin Digest today and recalled reading how Saban doesn't much care who is first string or second string while in camp. He commented that kinda of stuff is a product of society. He also stated that he's realized over the years that your best players are still going to be your best players regardless if they practice only a little or alot. He referenced DL Perry from his days with the Browns (the "Refrigerator" Perry's younger brother from the Bears" sometimes never practiced but still played) and he was a great defensive tackle.

wow - alabi impressed. thx for the report

I'm not surprised. Just from reading the draft write ups on the guy, he sounded like someone that had great size, quickness and intelligence for LT, but not enough experience. Very coachable and hard working.

Great report.

Where do I begin. I have a great report for you guys tonight.

-On the o-line. Stockar has been replaced in the 1st team at RT by McIntosh. I can't understand why. Stockar has looked solid and McIntosh has struggled. Maybe it was a one night thing to see how Stockar responds tomorrow, they may just be testing him and attempting to light a fire under his ***. We'll see tomorrow. RG Hadnot was pretty good, not as good as he's been though. One thing I loved was when they were doing one on ones DT #95 Josh Shaw got the better of Hadnot two straight times and after the 2nd play Houck pulled Hadnot over and spoke to him and then had him go up against Shaw a 3rd time, and this time not only did Hadnot get the better of Shaw, he freaken buried his *** into the ground. At LT Carey got beat bad by JT on one play but for the most part tonight held his own once again. McKinney stunk up the joint again. I've decided that he just sucks. Vickerson busted him up real bad one time, more on that later. Since McIntosh became 1st team RT, Alibi was promoted to 2nd team LT and boy did he play his *** off tonight. He did damn well and effectively dominated Roth every time they locked up. He and Roth got into a fight too.

-On the d-line Carter and JT were very good out there. Carter seems to take it easy in practice but when he turns it up a notch you notice. They went to full 11 v 11's and Carter had a nice INT off a tipped pass that he ran back. Fast guy for 290. Kevin Vickerson made some impact tonight and caught my eye. He blew up a couple plays. Listen to this, after practice I went to get Kevin's auto and I said "How's Manny's back doing?" He reponded "Oh, he's a cry baby." LOL!

-CB's: For most of the night Daniels and Madison were 1st team then during the final 11 v 11's Reggie Howard took Daniels spot. I asked Daniels after practice while he was signing why Howard was in his spot out there and he told me to ask Saban.

-At WR Boston made a nice long catch and Newson dropped an easy one in the endzone. Boston, Chambers, and Booker is a hell of a trio.

- Damn, Houck is one hell of a coach, we are gonna see more moments like
this Im sure of it. Its good to see that carey and Alibi are plyaing consistent.
Im not surprised with Seth maybe we should get a center next year.

- Wow Vickerson did good Lets see if he keeps up the pace.

- They are gonna be our starting CB's probably.

- Thats always good to hear hopefully we will keep him after this year if he does good and if he is healthy. I thought Newson had promise, well we will see.

And he has a nasty streak in him.
