Can anyone here say that Dion Jordan looked good last year?

This post is the kind of post I open and wonder if anyone is paying attention to the details.

He looked like a rookie learning on the fly as rookies do. Honestly, if we really want to take advantage of his skill set I say we let him compete at OLB. He showed he can cover, and he had some decent QB pressures, so I think moving him to a position where that athleticism can be fully taken advantage of, and it would get him, Wake, and Vernon on the field at the same time.
If he stays at DE, though, I'm not too worried about his progress yet. Give him time and see how he adjusts.

He didn't see the field much but when out there he was decent. Got a sack against the Browns and Panthers. Caused int against the Falcons and Ravens which Jones returned for a TD. Playing time was limited so he couldn't really show his abilities completely.

Covered Gronk pretty well in the few times he covered him. Showed solid explosion. But like most rookies he needs time to develop and will not be a show stopper right out of the gates. He didn't even get a ton of snaps. Only on Finheaven....

Sorry, I was trying to give a thanks but big thumbs and an iPhone error. Btw I agree especially with Wake's injuries. A few splash plays from DJ but otherwise not overly impressive. I would trade him straight up for Lane Johnson in a draft redo with Philly.

Dion Jordan was hindered by bad coaching. He should have been on the field way more than he was.

There are people who watch the draft and understand what kind of players are being drafted, at what spot and why... and then, there are people who watch the draft and attach production to a draft spot regardless of any other factor... Needless to say, the first group is a minority and make a lot of useful posts, the second group... Well... not so much...

I saw potential in Jordan last year, however his season was very underwhelming. He seems like he genuinely wants to get better, and we knew this guy was a tweener that will require a specific role, so I am being patient.

Jordan had a HORRIBLE rookie season. He looked like he should have been drafted in the 3rd round or later. I dont think he has the "it" factor. Really, all he has is speed. He's the Ted Ginn of DEs. I know a lot of you are going to say he was injured but if you suit up, you better give it your all. No excuses. If Miami really has an opportunity to trade him they should pull the trigger. The entire draft class was horrible actually. Besides Sturgis, no one really contributed. Now that ive stated my opinion, I hope I'm wrong about Jordan. But my eyes dont lie.

let me ask you 1 question , do you think you could play at 100% with a shoulder injury like Jordan had ?? because i know i couldnt .. NOBODY can make a REAL OPPION on a player , when there HURT ....IMO i think Jordan is going to be a beast , even HURT, he still played decent HURT , IMO ...

You obviously need glasses. Go get an eye exam ASAP!

He didn't have a good season if you consider he was the 3rd overall pick. But, the Giants drafted a physical specimen that didn't contribute a great amount for his rookie year. Will Dion Jordan play as well as JPP? Who knows? They don't play the exact same position, but they both have generally the same things to work on and the same things to build from.

What Jordan can build from:
burst off the snap is lightning fast
athleticism including change of direction ability is excellent

What Jordan needs to work on:
needs to develop more pass rushing moves, bull rush and a lazy speed outside rush doesn't cut it in this league
whatever inexplicable and magical unknown things it takes to get on the field more

I can't go into more depth because I just haven't seen that much action from him. In my opinion, that falls on the coaches. No way does a 3rd overall pass rushing player like Jordan bust this poorly that he can't make the field unless there is a positional coach screwing up or the DC is having a political issue with him.

I'm glad Miami shot down any offer from Philly. Unless it's equal to whatever we paid for the 3rd overall, plus 1 year of development then there's no sense in dealing the player. He could be as good as Demarcus Ware, maybe better. I probably wouldn't have done the deal, but I'm glad we have him now.

Jordan had an underachieving, not a horrible, rookie season. As has been written in this thread, he was limited due to injury, the play of our veteran DE's, and coaching. When he was on the field the offense knew it. In his limited time on the field he created havoc a number of times.

Now, this thread is the definition of "HORRIBLE". There are a lot of accusations and fairy tale beliefs (like "it")... "IT" is nothing more than having the ability to play in the NFL. This "it" that some speak of is nothing more than talent and determination. No player has "magic"...."clutch"..."it"...etc....these things don't really exist in the way that some wish to believe.

Jordan is a physical specimen who may or may not last a long time in the NFL. Again, however, he showed a lot of promise during the time he spent on the field.
