Can anyone here say that Dion Jordan looked good last year?

I don't buy he was still banged uo, they played him on special teams and a lot the game when Wake got hurt. Then the following week they chose Shelby over him to start.
He isn't a 4-3 end or linebacker. He isn't anything special in my opinion, we should have stayed put and got a better player than him and another possible starter in second.
Im fairly familiar with these tears with my profession and football background if he was still injured or hurting they would not have risked him on special teams and played him so much in that one game.

I don't get the logic at all in drafting him for our defense or that he was the third best player in the draft. Reminds me on the Brown pick. He may be a good player at some point but not worth the third pick in draft in any way

I have had a shoulder injury - and surgery - I would have thought buyer beware - the shoulder takes time - not to forget ZERO moves from DE - another of the countless reasons JI is gone

Ross let alone the fan base would never have allowed him to be shut down when his wheels were still working - he will be improved this year however, I am worried about the shoulder holding up for 10 years

dion jordan had numerous explosive plays?? wow what games are you people watching?? he freaking sucked but for a few plays all year. the play against atlanta and the play where he caused a pick 6...other than that he was absolute sh*t. its mind boggling to me how someone mentioned he covered te's like a glove...really how many times did he actually cover a te, 5 times all year? most of the posters on here are so blinded by their love for the dolphins its not practical to even argue with them...a waste of time. the guy sucked last year and add to that his bad work ethic and i dont know how people are so in love with this guy...

I don't think you understand why people are saying he played well or what playing well even means. Just because he didn't get a sack or forced fumble every play doesn't mean he didn't play well. Did you even see Gronkowski get open against us when Jordan was covering him? I didn't either. In relation to your statement about his work ethic. where did you see that? All I've heard is he is working very hard this offseason to bulk up and improve his game. Load the gun before you start pulling the trigger.

Anyone who has not seen great things out of Dion Jordan needs to have their eyes examined. Kid is a stud.

This coaching staff is ****ing moronic.

When he played he looked good

Why are people on this froum so keen to get at our rookies all the time?

In this case it's probably because of all the Jason Taylor comparisons creating unrealistic expectations. Then, when he didn't reach double digit sacks as a rookie ... Well, people like being early on the "Player X is a bust" bandwagon.

The "I told you so" factor has been running wild for the past few years around these parts. Kinda ironic how it usually ends up being this same type of poster who typically bashes the media for jumping to conclusions. :bobdole:

Jesus, everybody wants everything now now now now now. Instant gratification, much? If a player doesn't produce hall of fame numbers in his rookie year he's a failure blah blah blah blah.

You wouldn't propose to a girl after dating for a month (I sure as hell hope), so why the hell does a player HAVE to produce pro bowl numbers in his first year in the NFL?

He hasn't passed the 100 sack mark after his rookie season, he might as well retire at 24 years old.

I can say it, with the limited time he had on the field I think he has the potential to be very good. How could've anyone Imagine that Vernon would have breakout season. They might have to trade cam Wake so the kid can blossom into something really special.

I saw someone who struggled early and favored his shoulder. I also saw some amazing potential later in the year. Lets hope he gets the shoulder right and is given an opportunity to play.

my son had labrum surgery, take it from one who knows, its a hard rehab and the fact that he played as well as he did is amazing, I think he is going to be a beast when he gets healthy. The shoulder is a psychological issue for him as well, given a year of strength training he will blossom IMHO

I thought his season showed promise, but WTF was up with the non-tackle on Andrew Luck? That could have been a highlight sack for the season. #brainfart

Personally I'd shift him over to olb over anyone we have right now because he can cover tight ends.

Jordan had a HORRIBLE rookie season. He looked like he should have been drafted in the 3rd round or later. I dont think he has the "it" factor. Really, all he has is speed. He's the Ted Ginn of DEs. I know a lot of you are going to say he was injured but if you suit up, you better give it your all. No excuses. If Miami really has an opportunity to trade him they should pull the trigger. The entire draft class was horrible actually. Besides Sturgis, no one really contributed. Now that ive stated my opinion, I hope I'm wrong about Jordan. But my eyes dont lie.

Who said Jordan did not give it his all every time he suited up?

Good post although he was healthy at beginning of season and that's why he did play special teams. For a labrum tear it should not have affected him 9 months after the surgey, it affected his workouts in offseason and he played with it tore so it was not a horrible labrum tear

What you don't seem to understand is that while other players were in the strength and conditioning program, Jordan was rehabbing. During training camp when other players were on the field, Jordan was rehabbing. Rehabbing this type of injury meant Jordan could not lift enough weights to get stronger and thus made him a liability against the run. Also spending the amount of time Jordan spent rehabbing his shoulder prevented him from working on the techniques needed to be as effective as he needed to be while on the field.

I know Jordan played in the first two preseason game but was limited to only seven snaps against the Jags leading many to think he re-injured his shoulder which further push back Dion's development.

What we don't know is how healthy Dion was at the beginning of he season.

I thought you had to take the field to look good OR bad.

Jordan at times did both. Like the Bucs game, he only played nine snaps but had two QB hurries on six pass rushes but struggled against the run which is why he didn't play more.
