Can Chad Henne really lead us to the playoffs?

too early to tell man, but have i seen huge improvent from chad henne this year? Without a doubt.

Daboll's system seems to be Moore QB friendly. The simplified reads and pre snap reads should bring out the best of Henne. I expect improvement, but we will have to wait and see if it is enough.

This offense will ask Henne to take more risks this year, and I think this will take either a very positive turn, or a very negative one. Either way, we'll finally know the answer to the age old question. Did Dan Henning's lame offensive scheme limit Chad, or was Henning limiting him because he couldn't handle a more dynamic offense? I hope/have a hunch that Chad will get better, but he needs to get a LOT better in a hurry. Like, 22 TD, 15 INT better.

if chad can play mediocre, our defense plays to #3 caliber, our offense gels quickly then we could be a sleeper.

We need the oline to create room for dt to move the chains.

do we ever run any dual HB sets?

jets suck.

I firmly believe that Daboll is gonna do everything in henne's favor. Honestly im not a henne fan whats so ever but i think this year henne is gonna put up better numbers than any other year hes been in the league. The offense has definitely opened up and with the addition of bush and marshall and henne on the same page for the most part is gonna surprise some people. I dont think hes the savior for this franchise but dont be surprised if he actually performs better overall and the dolphins feel no need to again not draft a QB next year..

I agree with you. A better offensive scheme could be huge for the Phins. They added a speedster at WR, an extremely talented home run threat in Bush, and a potential stud running back DT. Henne could thrive in a system that utilizes his talents and hides his weaknesses, something that Henning absolutely failed at.. Yes, Henne CAN lead the Phins to the playoffs, he has the tools, he just needs some help.
GO PHINS~!

Can he "lead us" to the playoffs ... NO. Can he hide behind a great defense (ala Sanchez), limit his mistakes, and manage this team to the playoffs .. YES.

Either way - you have to believe that:

1. Easier Schedule
2. Realistic Top 5 Defense
3. Henne one year older
4. Bush's homerun threat
5. Proper Mindset (Marshall, Bush, and Bess are more vocal about supporting Chad)
6. More dynamic and aggressive offense

Is that worth three more wins? That puts at 10-6. (See number one on my list - at the very least, we're not worse than we were last year at this time.)

Go Phins!

Did not open the link, may be a good article but for the most part, Bleacher Report BLOOOWS.

IMO to the quesion, yes he can. Unlike others, I have faith in the Oline, I have faith Reggie Bush will make a big difference in spreading the field. I have faith in Hartline, love Devon Bess and yes, even Marshal regardless if he has turned out to not be a deep threat. If Fasano can concentrate on getting downfield more and holding onto the ball, this kid Thomas will be fine once he finds his way thru the forest. Do not forget, a rookie, less then what ? 4 weeks of practice with an NFL team and learning an NFL offense. As much as Johnson has screwed up, he deserves a chance and is a good short yardage back.

So yeah, going against the aholes on the board who hate the team or particular players, yeah, I like this team and its chances to be improved. May take until after the bye this year due to the limited amount time this year but yes, Henne can do it. All he has to do is play the way he did against Carolina, consistently and yeah, it should be a fun year.

Depth on offense is a little scary. I am fine with Murtha, OK with Garner and after that folks its a toss up. Do not think Berger will make the roster and IF someone else steps up, Jerry may be gone. All depends on if the kid shows any sign of improvement, any sign. Feinga, Meh, the rest I honestly do not even know anything about.
Cut times are coming and we just may find someone better then either Jerry or Feinga. Just the same, sorry to ramble on. Can Henne do it ? Yep, he can

I agree it's possible, especially if he can just manage the game without the turnovers . I believe this offense is much more geared for helping Henne to do just that.

The story lost all credibility when it said Columbo was a good quality mauling OLman...

Think how many games Henne lost last year while he was actually having a solid 1st half (NYJ, NE (early season games), Cle, Buf, etc...

That's because Henne is easy to adjust against, and other teams adjust accordingly at halftime.

he usually is pretty efficient and effective when he makes the bad throw. It's almost like he gets too comfortable and then makes that bad throw. Then after that 1st pick, he tries to do too much and forces a bad throw, usually leading to his 2nd pick (NE).
Stop trying to rationalize things. He just stinks, plain and simple.

what are you guys going to do if sanchez goes out and puts up solid fantasy stats in the regular season this year? Seriously? who will you compare you boy henne to? alex smith maybe?

According to you guys, miami has a top defense and great receivers. why can't they carry henne to the playoffs the way our defense has?

Why? It's the truth and an honest analysis. He's got arm-strength and accuracy. His INTs are not necessarily poor throws as opposed to bad decisions (there is a difference). Typical comment from an armchair QB. Learn the sport before your comment.

Is Henne easy to adjust to? Or was it Henning?
