Can Chad Henne really lead us to the playoffs?

I think even if he has a career year Miami should still take a qb in the first round next year.

No. He's the worst starting QB in the league. (Tongue in cheek). No way going into just his third year can he get better. Look at Matt Ryan, look at Joe Flacco, look at Mark Sanchez, Josh freeman, they are already great. Henne sucks.

What are you saying about Mark Sanchez?

I sure hope so man, Im tired of being a below average team!! Even if hes not a Marino or Brady type player we just need consistent QB play and let our Def carry us!!

A lot of people forgot the injury he suffered to his knee last year and probably came back too early. When he came back, there was no zip at all on his throws. Maybe his mechanic was affected but I'm certainly no doctor! He looks more and more like the promising qb we saw when he stepped up for Chad Pennington. I certainly believe he can lead us.

Yeah that injury effected him.

But then again, that injury was after they benched him in favor of Chad Pennington who wasn't fully recovered due to his bad play.

So the knee injury is just another excuse.

It's another season, and yes we can make it to the playoffs with Henne. We would have had a shot last year if not for Henne himself. If he just is competant this year we can make the playoffs.

But it won't be him leading us to the Playoffs. It will likely be our defense ala Sanchez and the Jets. Though Sanchez actually comes through in critical moments of games when they need him to

That is so ****tily written. Bleacher Report is brutal.

Henne played pretty bad and we won 7 games this past year. We even had one win taken away from us by the refs (Pittsburgh). So, really we were 8-8. We also went 1-7 at home, and lost close games to beatable teams like Detroit and Cleveland. I just don't see that happening again. If Henne can improve even a little,(and I think he can just based on a new offensive coordinator alone) we can ABSOLUTELY make the playoffs.

We can win with Chad Henne at QB and make the play offs and win in the play offs. This team has improved from last year adding Reggie Bush, Jason Taylor and Larry Johnson along with another solid draft class...this team is on the rise!

I think so...He just has to get his mind together when the pressure is on him. We have the pieces; Henne just has to play good enough. One thing Sanchez does, other than get lucky as ****, is that the Jets didn't always win in spite of him, but they won because of him on a few occasions. If the Fins can get at least 5 or 6 wins because of Henne's play and not in spite of his play, then I'd say we have a really nice shot.

If Henne continues to show elusiveness and at least some mobility to extend the play with Marshall, Reggie and Bess scrambling for position and Gates taking his man deep.. , essentially like Sanchez does... well then, if he also doesn't put the brakes on an otherwise strong team (I know 2 big "IFs") no reason we can't enjoy the same momentum as last year's jest. The first few games are important because confidence feeds on itself.

Of course he can, he has all the physical tools. Will he? No one knows that. With Dan Henning gone, things look a lot better that's for sure.

Exactly. No one can deny that he's got a great arm, and has shown that he can be elusive when he needs to. He just has to use his tools when it counts, and make the right decisions. Not having Henning as a ball and chain should put us in more serious contention.

If you think about it, the past couple of years we controlled our own destiny going into the final few weeks of the season, but we royally screwed ourselves because of horrid playcalling, and horrid QB play.

IF he uses his tools right, THEN we will be in the playoffs.

That's because Henne is easy to adjust against, and other teams adjust accordingly at halftime.

Stop trying to rationalize things. He just stinks, plain and simple.

Actually it's not that simple, but all the same, keep telling yourself that.

what are you guys going to do if sanchez goes out and puts up solid fantasy stats in the regular season this year? Seriously? who will you compare you boy henne to? alex smith maybe?

Better question is, what will all the Henne haters do if Henne goes out and put solid fantasy numbers? Because past years has shown that Henne having a solid season is more likely then Sanchez.

According to you guys, miami has a top defense and great receivers. why can't they carry henne to the playoffs the way our defense has?

Was Miami's Offensive coordinator a hard head fosil of a coach, who still used the same offense idealogy from the 1960s & 70s? Can't win games, when defenses, and football fans know what your team will do on offense even before your players do.
