Why is everyone freaking out? Most people on this bored hate Ireland and think he is doing such a bad job, but honestly he could make everyone eat their words. Ok we didnt get get Petyon. Now can everyone just get over it, its not like we didn't try. We can't make the guy come here. Brabdon Marshall had to be moved we got what we got from him and by the looks of it now were lucky we got that. Now isn't it obvious Matt Flynn isn't anything near what people thought he was(unless you believed he was just a 7th rd pick that is not a franchise qb). IMHO I believe that Philbin wants his own system in place and rightfully so. Here is why I think were in the right position.
Philbin stresses continuity and high character players
First of all our whole defensive unit is back(with the exception of langford)and are young and most of them have been playing together their whole careers. Continuity. Our running gamw could be real strong as it was last year even witg thomas hurt for most the season. Daniel Thomas will be good! This sets up a draft to target all the skill positions that have been ignored by Miami for the past ten years. This is how our draft should look.
Round 1: QB Ryan Tannehill- Obviously the connection with the coaching staff is there, but aside from that he's our guy. Marshall being traded wasn't for no reason. We all know what Marshall can do to a rookie qb.
Round 2: WR Mohammed Sanu- Not saying this will be the pick but our new qb needs some weapons, it starts here wit a number one WR who runs good routes and gets YAC.
Round 3: TE Orson Charles- Again not saying this is the we should make but the best available receiving threat TE on the board.
The rest of the picks on wr, safety, tackle, and corner.
Building through the draft is something Miami hasn't done in a while, change was needed.
All these people complaing about not getting these scrub backups your reasoning is why Miami has been so horrible thos past decade. We need change and it starts with drafting a qb in the first round, something Miami hasn't done since 1984. Now does anyone remember how that worked out? Qbs are the hardest position to find and we need to make a play for our own. I really believe Miami has finally realized this! Ryan Tannehill will be our guy. In coach Joe I trust.
