Why is everyone freaking out? Most people on this bored hate Ireland and think he is doing such a bad job, but honestly he could make everyone eat their words. Ok we didnt get get Petyon. Now can everyone just get over it, its not like we didn't try. We can't make the guy come here. Brabdon Marshall had to be moved we got what we got from him and by the looks of it now were lucky we got that. Now isn't it obvious Matt Flynn isn't anything near what people thought he was(unless you believed he was just a 7th rd pick that is not a franchise qb). IMHO I believe that Philbin wants his own system in place and rightfully so. Here is why I think were in the right position.

Philbin stresses continuity and high character players

First of all our whole defensive unit is back(with the exception of langford)and are young and most of them have been playing together their whole careers. Continuity. Our running gamw could be real strong as it was last year even witg thomas hurt for most the season. Daniel Thomas will be good! This sets up a draft to target all the skill positions that have been ignored by Miami for the past ten years. This is how our draft should look.

Round 1: QB Ryan Tannehill- Obviously the connection with the coaching staff is there, but aside from that he's our guy. Marshall being traded wasn't for no reason. We all know what Marshall can do to a rookie qb.

Round 2: WR Mohammed Sanu- Not saying this will be the pick but our new qb needs some weapons, it starts here wit a number one WR who runs good routes and gets YAC.

Round 3: TE Orson Charles- Again not saying this is the we should make but the best available receiving threat TE on the board.

The rest of the picks on wr, safety, tackle, and corner.

Building through the draft is something Miami hasn't done in a while, change was needed.
All these people complaing about not getting these scrub backups your reasoning is why Miami has been so horrible thos past decade. We need change and it starts with drafting a qb in the first round, something Miami hasn't done since 1984. Now does anyone remember how that worked out? Qbs are the hardest position to find and we need to make a play for our own. I really believe Miami has finally realized this! Ryan Tannehill will be our guy. In coach Joe I trust.

I agree completely and honestly I'm ashamed at how childish the people on this board are. LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE.... to quote my other thread:

Look at all the big names we have missed out on, and how 50+% of this board now thinks the sky is falling , fire everyone immediately, etc etc. But when you analyze them further, it's really a joke how upset people are...

Manning - 2-4 good years left at most. Would bring us to the playoffs, but doubt we would get to the superbowl with him. What is the point of having him as our starter and paying TONS of money for him? A team that is closer than us is a much better fit for him.

Matt Flynn - Turn on the tape and you see a copy of Matt Moore.... Seattle's small contract that he agreed to proves this.. WAY over hyped, probably won't be very good........ GLAD we didn't sign him.

Marshall - Can't seem to stay out of trouble. He is 1-2 incidents away from being suspended for a long time. He may very well be suspended for this year. Got value out of him now while we still can. Again, he may help us make the playoffs, but he is also aging and won't be of much value in a few years. Might as well trade him now while we can get 2 third round picks still.... Great move for a team like ours.

RG3 - Washington drafted #6... we draft #8. We would have had to pay MORE than washington, who already over payed by a lot. Really? You guys are mad about this one too? I'm sorry but the price was just way too high, maybe if we were drafting higher than 8 we would have had a chance at this.

OK so these are the moves that people are so mad at? Ireland should be immediately fired etc?? Honestly to me it looks like so far we've made a lot of the right moves...... I really think Ireland is a lot smarter than most people here give him credit for, and he only even had discussions with these players to appease the rabid, insane, sometimes childish fan base....

All i see is excuses we are going to be 5-11 next year

Sorry people cant relax when we got MR IRELAND running the show WHERE IS THE CHANGE... ?? No Qb and no WRs yup other teams getting better while we playing it safe and wasting time talking to Qbs that don't even want to play here.

Exactly

No patience is the main reason this team has been so bad. You dont build a tram in free agency with other teams castoffs. Talk to me after the draft, Ireland is making all the right moves.

how many years are we going to give ireland a pass?

if he's here in three years.... and we continually have a 5-11 to 7-9 record, people will still find ways to say it wasnt his fault.

Remember just a couple years ago when we seriously needed a franchise QB and #1 WR? Now here we are and what do we really need? Same things, plus more. That's why fans are mad. We've really done nothing to improve this team where it needs most.

why did brandon marshall have to be moved exactly?

usually when you have such a talented player on offense in his prime, u try to make the team better, not give him away for nothing.

now, i personally rather have moore than flynn because i didnt see flynn as a real upgrade, but u dont trade away ur best offensive player for a bag of balls in his prime.

I absolutely HATED what Miami Dolphins have become. Years ago I thought we should gotten rid of GM, Coach, everyone else in the Front Office. Players not wanting to sign here, Manning living in Miami and made them fly to Ind to meet with him, now that should told you something about what people think of the Dolphin Management. But most people say, give it time, there is a plan. Well, 3-4 years later, we are still planning and losing. And, I for one, I'm sick of it. Produce or leave the business of making a successful team to someone else....

man... have you not been reading the news lately??!?!

Marshall CAN'T STAY OUT OF TROUBLE... he is a couple more incidents away from a ban from the NFL.

He may even be suspended for part or all of this season.......................................

WE WERE LUCKY to get two 3'rd round picks while brandon marshall still has ANY value at all. he is going into his 7'th year and is another incident away from having 0 VALUE AT ALL.

What arent you getting here??? The fact is ireland made a great move while he could still trade him at all.......

OK Ireland did make a good move. When is the last time Ireland drafted a WR as good as Marshall? the answer is never; however he interviewed one in Dez Bryant last year and messed up the interview and then passed him up in the draft.

I've been "benefiting the doubt" for the past three or four offseasons, and all I've gotten is losing seasons

I'm fed up with Mr. Ireland
He blew it by not getting either Peyton or Flynn. If ANYBODY else were running this damn team we could have gotten one of them.

I like Matt Moore but he's not the answer. Flynn may not have been either, but at least we could of taken a CHANCE on him. We never take any chances.

o please, their is a good chance marshall wont even be suspended at all for this, because they need evidence.

say he was suspended for 4 games, u still dont trade him for nothing. we got back less than what we gave up for him.

We were only practically 0-16 b4 he got here...with nothing on the roster...now we look like a team with some nucleus. Some ppl want us to be the redskins or the "dreamteam" that doesn't work..last years issue last year in my mind was coaching. Now we have.a new coach...we lost 1 player in Marshall, but that's it! You still have the whole draft and teams aren't done cutting players..this team won 7 games last year...after starting 0-7..0-7!!! How can we be so much worse overnight?that's what the media has instilled in all of you..I would be concerned if tony was still our coach and henne was our starter.at least you know we will have an upgrade there.whether it be smith or Moore.I understand the frustration...but this is a good team!Rt is improved simply because colombo isn't there..qb is also, simply because of a full offseason no matter who it is.defense can't start off worse than they did last year...I think we will be o.k next year.don't let the media wear you down..at least...at least wait till after the draft to start jumping off of a bridge, but losing out on a backup qb,a qb who can only go to one team and a underacheiving receiver some of you can't wait that long.
