Can Ricky and Ronnie Both rush for 1,000 Yards in a season?

The O-line Ricky ran behind 2 years ago was no better and we had NO passing threat then or 2nd option (Ronnie). To make 1,000 yards each Ricky would need to average 83 yards a game for 12 games and Ronnie would need to average 63 yards a game for 16 games. Either of these guys are perfectly capable of exceeding those numbers on a single carry especially with each other as a diversion. Ricky and Ronnie are certainly a more talented pair than Byner and Mack were! It is certainly possible to happen. Saban has said we will see them in the backfield together starting with tonights game. Going to be fun to watch.

If they're both on the team splitting carries and are completely healthy next year, I see no reason why it wouldn't happen. The OL should be at least average by then (or Houck's rep will take quite the hit), and it is possible that Boston/McMichael will be back out of the mix by then. If that happened, I would envision Linehan implementing a run first offense due to the personnel on the team.

Over Ricky's career, he has averaged right at 90 yards rushing per game. Over his past four years (2000-2003), Ricky has averaged right at 95 yards rushing per game. If he gets the rushes, he can get 1,000 yards in 12 games, easily. In 2000, he had 1,000 yards in 10 games.

The right balance will have to be found for it to happen though. Ricky has always been a back that gets better with more carries, and he's a career 4.0 yards per rush guy. Ronnie Brown's speed will probably allow him to make more long runs than Ricky, so you could see Ronnie averaging between 4.5 and 5.0 yards per pop.

I think a more likely scenario has Ricky getting around 240 carries for right at 1,000 yards with Ronnie getting around 200 carries for right around 900 yards while also catching 50 passes for another 500 yards.
