Other teams are already speculating at the possibility of Long. I know the team has health concerns, but if he can stay healthy this year I think they would be foolish not to resign him.

Money usually is never the big obstacle when an NFL team has eyes on a key player they need. It's the team that player is leaving. One of the thing that takes some of the drama out of free agency every year is the franchise tag, allowing any team to name a single player their franchise talent. While it sounds nice on paper, the truth is it's an excuse to drive the price for the a player so high he's forced to either hold out or sign the one-year tag contract. That is the reality facing four-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jake Long.
Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall would thrive with Long on the blindside
Many fear that an unreliable offensive line could ruin the chance for a great season, no matter how health Cutler says he is or Marshall says he can mentor his fellow receivers. The one thing missing the minds of fans and even some experts is a proven left tackle. J'Marcus Webb, the current starter, got rated near the bottom of league last season. While he is only 23 and it was his first full season playing the left tackle spot, fans aren't willing to give him another year to figure it out. That is why Long is such a beacon of possibility. Adding his talent to the offensive line would give Chicago not only one of the top talents in the league but someone who won't need blocking help on most of the snaps.
Possible or probable won't matter in 2012 for the Chicago Bears. Jake Long is still the left tackle of the Miami Dolphins and unless there is a major change will stay that way. Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall will have to do without, unless of course their front office works can work some miracles.
