Can't wait for Spielman to get fired already..........

No, rick only made the calls involving what players to get, and to get rid of, he in NO way controlled who started.

I just read this whole thread. St. Nick. I dont think you really know what the hell your talking about. i see you conveniently forgot about pope and poole in a draft that was not very good position wise. I also think he ended up on his feet when feeley showed us something. that was the deal that his job was hinging on.

SI bet you even have a Flat Top haircut just like him.............:shakeno: :wall:
St. Nick.

You need to curtail the personal jabs in the main forum.
If you can't discuss an issue without insults, you're invited to do it somewhere else.

I'm not warning you again.

I want to.........but I just can't get excited about the new Coaching hires or anything for that matter until Rick Spielman has been kicked to curb with cab fare to the Miami Airport. This guy is not only a constant reminder of how bad the decisions were the past few years but he is also an arrogant ******* that refuses to take responsibility for what he has done. The players don't respect him and I wish Nick Saban would paste a set of his size 10's on his butt . That would be the #1 indicator that this team is heading in the right direction. :yell: :shakeno:
What has he done that was so bad? He made no decisions until last year and its way too early to call any of his decision horrible enough to warrant being fired for.

RS did not want Fletcher or Moore at the spot Wanny drafted them, so again. Why the hatered of RS?

I'll give ya Bua. Guy shows a ton of promise if he can healthy and be durable. I'll give Carey another shot............but AJ was a waste of a HIGH 2nd round draft pick. My biggest problem with RS is not his ability to pick talent(although I am quite skeptical of that as well) but he gave way too much for way too little. The other teams saw him coming and Bent him over the table.
Blame the 2nd Rd pick on DW previous trades. Miami would have landed AJ for a '04 3rd pick, but will all the previous trades that moved Miami's picks, RS had to ask Philly to wait a year for the pick which made it increase in value to a 2nd.

Miami paid a 2nd for AJ & a years interest.

Simple...........Kurt Warner. About the same price(2 million), Superbowl experience, Vetern leadership AND WE WOULD STILL HAVE A LOW 2 ROUND DRAFT PICK ................practically a high 1st.:
Warner? Please dude. The guy was benched for a rookie who was not ready to start.

Then you should be content with Rick this year. He wont be the one deciding how much to give up for a player and he wont have the authority to make any trade or draft pick without the OK from his boss. All he can do is advise.

Perhaps you should be a little more knowledgable about the Phins power structure before you make such comments. Spielman had final say in player acquisition, whether by draft, free agency, or trade. Wannstedt had final say on who started, who played, what position a player was asked to play, who was inactive, who got practice time with which squad. I think he also had final word on who got cut, but that may have been a combined effort between Wanny and Spielman.

This info was in all the major media outlets....not sure how you missed it.

Wow ... was that necessary?

Anyway ... I think it's kind of a moot point, as Saban will have final say-so in drafting decisions, so any missteps will be his responsibility, not Spielman's (I'm not expecting any).

What having Spielman on board for this draft will do is give Saban someone to do some of the legwork for him in the War Room. Saban will also get a chance to see Spielman's player evaluation philosophy in action. If he doesn't like a lot of what Spielman brings to the table, Spielman will get (1) overruled on questionable calls; and (2) a bus ticket after the draft.

RS is a do-boy... we need that right now... he can't hurt us... he can only help Saban.... for whatever beefs people have with his choices... the guy works hard.... he is no longer a decision maker... let him do his job....put the personal stuff away....

Sorry, but I'm only speaking the truth.

I think you are correct. I think Saban thinks enough of RS to give him a chance to prove himself.

St Nick.. i see you havent been here too long acording to your number of posts....so listen: First of all, we are all here to have fun because we are all Phinsfans.
Secondly, You need to respect everybody's opinion if you want yours respected. No need to come in here and insult people just because you dont agree with their point of views.
This is probably the best site to get Phins info and have a good time with other phins fans... so enjoy it!! in a civilized way.

And............a 3rd stringer that couldn't beat out koy Detmer was a BETTER option? He couldn't even beat out Jay Fielder for christ sake. If we had signed Kurt Warner we wouldn't have done worse this season AND we would have a very low 2nd round draft pick.

Are YOU joking?

:roflmao:
AJ's going to go through growing pains.......it was his 1st year starting.
However, AJ still has lots of upside with a year under his belt, Wanstedt gone, and Linehan helping him now.........so the 2nd rounder is not wasted.

Kurt Warner, however, would've been a waste.
He's OLD, and no good anymore. Saban NEVER would've signed Warner!!!
Saban wants LONG TERM guys......not short term wishful thinking.

If AJ develops under Saban/Linehan, then the 2nd rounder was WORTH IT. :cooldude:

I only have one more thing to say about this subject and then i'm not going to acknowledge anything the uneducated St. Nick has to say. Here's all you need to know St. Nick. Rick wanted to draft Drew Brees, Dave didn't and went with Jamar Fletcher. Rick wanted to draft Anquan Boldin, Dave didn't want went with Eddie Moore. Hmmmm seems to be that having Brees, Chambers, and Boldin on this team right now wouldn't be such a bad thing.
