Carey moved to RG

John Jerry is looking like he's going to be cut.

Doubtful. He's only in his 2nd year, and was ill last year and couldn't play. If nothing else, he's worthwhile depth. I doubt they give up on him unless he is just disgustingly unmotivated.

My biggest concern is blocking at the second level. We should move Incognito to C and have Pouncey pull. Richie is not ideally suited for pulling and I would imagine neither is Carey. Who knows especially since this was stated by Sparano as a big concern at the end of the season.

This move was CLEARLY made to put Colombo in the starting lineup. Garner ain't starting . . . you kidding me, Tony wants to dance with his cornfed friend from Dallas.

im not mad about this at all . . i really like this. idk about colombo on the outside tho but we'lls ee.

Jerry did play his last 2 seasons at Ole Miss at RT. Not too far fetched that they'd at least TRY him there before cutting him. What could it hurt?

Exactly. You find a spot on the 9 OL roster typically carried and hope that he improves. One season and two training camps is not enough to know what you have.

Don't let your blind hatred for this regime cloud your judgement.

The Carey move inside is good but Columbo possibly starting at RT is awful and far outweighs the move of Carey. You plugged one hole and left a gapping hole somewhere else and this seems like an indication Jerry isn't getting the job done.

So let's see how the great O-line coach is doing with his picks:

2008 Draft
1st Round - Jake Long - stud, franchise LT
4th Round - Shawn Murphy - sucked and cut
6th Round - Donald Thomas - lasted 1 and a half seasons and cut

2009 Draft
6th Round - Andrew Gardner - hasn't done jack

2010 Draft
3rd Round - John Jerry - looks to be on his way to the bench, possibly cut

1 out of 5 players drafted...not good. We have better luck with undrafted free agents on the O-line.

Or maybe there is thought of bringing McKinnie in to compete for the rt spot.

I really like the fact Carey has been moved to guard. I really hate the fact he was replaced by Columbo at tackle.

You are correct. The one successful OLman other than Long is Garner and he wasn't even drafted by us nor can't really be considered good until he becomes healthy and plays like he did in 09.

i like the idea of kicking him inside but so colombo can play right tackle??? hell no...never

Don't sleep on Nate Garner, or another FA signing. I think Carey's move inside prolongs his time here for a year or two. Remember, before Leonard Davis was a guard, he was a darn good tackle.
