Caution: Just enjoy the win

Clear perspective is never very far away, but still, even using the Zack performance barometer (Performances are never as good, nor as bad as they appear, er somthing like that), they still weighed out to a solid performance for their overall balance.
As Saban said, they exhibited as a team, an ability to overcome adversity.
That was somthing to see, regardless of whor they were playing.

Point is I know for fact that Saban is going to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL with his planning for the Jets. The romp over the Jets was even worse than what the score showed in Arrowhead. Against the Jets they key is to strike fast as opposed to late in this game. Take Curtis Martin out of the game and make Pennington beat us on routes he doesn't like to throw.

.............let's not get too big headed over this great victory this afternoon. If anything it was the sure-shot indication that last year is officially OVER WITH. So please guys, refrain from jumping on other forums and talking trash, just bask in our boys letting go of a tumultruous 2004 season and proving they can still play in this league.

Dude after living through last year this win made me so happy I almost went streaking down my street in nothing but a Ricky Williams Jersey. Of couse that could have been the alchol talking too.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Dolphins and especially Gus Frerotte will come out flat against the Jets next week after the emotional high of this win. They don't quite have the character yet to where they can do this week in and week out like true professionals.

I'm kind of concerned about the Jets being mad and hungry next week, in combination with the possibility the Phins could come up flat. Could be a disaster in the making. We'll just have to see what Saban can do to get them up for the game again.

Well, listening to Gus's friday or sat PC, he had a good relaxed approach.
I think if he sticks with his "focus and have fun philosophy" It'll help with consistency.
I hope.

Yeah, our cards are now on the table. Though Shannahan didn't really know what to plan against, Edwards will have legitimate game film of us.
Hopefully their offensive coordinator, is as lacking as the media is beginning to proclaim.

We all know the answer to that though.

Lets not forget the 3-0 run of our pals the Jills a couple years ago, a swarming D, a clicking on all cylinders O, and SB dreams in their eyes. And then #34 grinded those dreams into pulp on Sunday Night Football, leading to a playoff-less season.

Let's not be that team, lets put things in perspective, one week at a time. The Jets will be pissed and will be at home. We need to stay calm and focused on not putting one win out of perspective. Like Saban said, enjoy this for 24 hours, and then its back to work.

Well said. 24 hours is all I could allow myself to enjoy it for. As I said before: It's Jet week baby!!

I was just happy to see us finally play well and get a win...I did not smack talk or taunt the Bronco fans here in Colorado...take the win and lets try to make sure we give the Jets a beatdown next week. :)

I think Saban has the Jets all figured out already. I think Nick has had them figured out since July. What do you guys thinK? :)

I expect Gus to have a bit of a let down but I expect Ronnie to be much cleaner running the ball and the penalties knocked down some to offset it. Really as long as the defense plays like it did today and Gus isn't a turnover machine the phins will be in each and every game.

So screw the original post...I'm enjoying this one to high heaven. Been a long time since the phins demolished another team. Enjoy it while we can!!!

Gus bailed us out numerous times after we gave up tons of yardage due to penalties. My hope is that we can cut down on the mistakes so he won't need to be converting 3rd and longs, or always starting 1st and 15. I totally believe we can do well if Gus just plays steady and avoids the big mistakes.
