NYG replaced him with David Bass. That's (David Baas) who I had said we should've signed in FA.

I said all along that we should've targeted a top C (like Baas or Goodwin) and a top G (like Blaylock or Gallery) in FA and used the draft for QB and RB.

Ingram/Mallett/Bass/Blaylock would've been a GREAT offseason. And a PR could've been had on the cheap instead of the Bush money.

But hey, not trying to be negative or anything. Yaaaaayyyyy..........O'Hara!!!!

I thought Garner could start at LG but I guess they're looking at him as a backup swing tackle. Incognito was starting at LG in practices thus far (from what I could see).
 
if he's healthy I think he would be to good to sit on the bench although it would be good depth. A lot of experts have said Pouncy is actually better at playing guard and can pull really well, I wouldn't mind shifting pouncy to guard and starting O'hara at center, lets see what happens though.

That seems better. I think they'd be asking too much of Pouncey to line up at C week 1 against Wilfork/Haynesworth and be making line calls with only 3 weeks of having the playbook.

This. Maybe they believe brining in a Vet who has played against these monsters before would be better suited to play center now, use Pouncey at guard he could be a pulling monster.
 
Wow....he could be a great mentor to Pouncey.....or provide more flexibility to move Pouncey to guard if Jones or Incognito can't step up....

Shame because david baas is a good player.
 
I'm all for putting Pouncey back at the Guard position!!! Most experts felt he was a better Guard prospect than a Center ... But if O'Hara is signed as a legit backup unlike Berger or Incognito ... I'm fine with it, because O'Hara's experience would be useful in helping Pouncey with his learning curve ... I was hoping Miami would go after Seubert as well from the NYG, who also was released ...

I do think O'Hara would be more of a depth signing and potential starter if something were to happen to Pouncey. He is older, at 34 years old, but Jeff Saturday is 36 years old. I don't think as a backup and possible starter fill in he is that bad of a signing, if it does happen.
