Chad Henne or Ryan Tannehill..what's the difference?

Please.......Tannehill has made throws that Henne could never make.

Henne had Marshall for 2 years........Marshall is better than Wallace....NEXT
nah he has not.

...O...M...G....why do i even bother with coming to this board anymore....Henne was also never sacked as much as Tannehill has been in one year...you put a WR like Mike Wallace who is better at running in straight line faster than anyone in an offense that has the QB getting sacked as much as Tannehill was and of course he isnt going to put up the numbers...i mean jesus, they could have taken 4 of us fat guys from this forum and put them around Pouncey and we probably wouldnt have given up as many sacks as this POS OL has..

Tannehill had 9 more TD passes this year then Chad Henne's career high...ill start there

The difference as I see it, is that Tannehill does try to get the ball down the field more. He doesn't go through progressions well, and tends to throw to the first read...or just throws to spot without checking the defense. He does not fake well at all, but since we don't have a running game...it might not do much.

Henne, on the other hand, checked down way too much. He still does...look at some Jags tape. Henne goes through the progressions, but his concept of "open" is simply not on par with the better NFL QB's...he over-manages the game. I think this was due to Sparano...and his stupid clock!

Both had issues with the deep ball. I actually think Henne was better in this regard...the issues with Tannehill and the deep ball are glaring!

The biggest problem with Henne though was his reads. I think it was the Pats game that I gave up on him. He simply couldn't read a zone blitz. It was pathetic. All you had to do against the guy was drop and LB now and then, and you would end up with the ball. I haven't seen that problem with Tannehill. He still has issues, but he is only in his second year with a TERRIBLE OL.

Now...with Henne, I was patient with him until his 3rd year. I am doing the same with Tannehill. I haven't made my mind up yet, because he is showing progress. Henne didn't show that.

But, to be clear...if he stays at this level and does not improve next year...he is not "the guy." The level he is an now, is not acceptable.

tannehill has the ability to take a little off of the ball, heene threw it about 100 miles per hour regardless of how close or far away you were from him...

that said henne still has the nicest looking throw and catch that ive seen on this team in a long time...that throw to ginn to win the jets game, I don't know if Ive ever seen a dolphins qb put one over someones shoulder and have them be able to run and catch it without changing stride...probably luck, but tannehill hasn't been able to match it at all...

I've been a big RT fan. After theses last 2 games questions have to be asked.

Its going to be a great offseason on Finheaven......not.

The honest answer is . . . they are traveling down a "very" similar path, and it is bothersome. Similar record, alot of similar mannerisms, similar meltdown at the end of their second season . . . I think the glaring difference is that Tannehill is more athletic, but what good does that do if he doesn't utilize it nearly enough. Numerous opportunities to make plays with his legs and many times he hesitates and it's too late. Tannehill needs to work on his overall timing, from inside the pocket to throwing the deep ball.

I've heard quotes likes "You gotta give him time" and with the running game "Look what Miller can do when he has holes" . . . this is a league that players have to thrive through adversity, players relying on excuses for their play tend to not excel to the level that is required to do greater things.

Defend him the guy, I fully expect that, and I fully expect him to be the starting QB in the 2014 season . . . but don't go into it blind, the kid needs to take bigger steps in 2014 and nobody should be "fully confident" that he'll be the top franchise QB we all hope he is.

tannehill is clearly better than henne...anyone who even compares the 2 loses all credibility in my eyes.

No one said the average football fan was that bright. Most of the people who draw that ridiculously stupid comparison have no ****ing clue what they're even watching (like most football fans). To make comparisons like Tannehill and Henne is just the convenient thing to do though for the dimbulb football fan who likes to do nothing but bitch and moan and cry.

Henne 14-17 in 31 games . . . Tannehill 14-17 in 31 games. Henne and the Dolphins controlled the teams destiny in his second season at 7-6 and blew it down the stretch and Tannehill and the Dolphins controlled the teams destiny in his second season at 7-6 and blew it. The window dressing of yards and TDs are nice, but the things that really matter are very similar.
