I think this is a better assessment of his performance so far. Instead of comparing his current stats to an entire season.

He had *zero* time, whatsoever. Again, I'm not going to be an apologist for him, but his protection royally sucked. Unfortunately, it will be like this all year, and the fact that Henne isn't a great quarterback will make it even more tough to score.

I understand our OL sucks, but Henne needs to adjust something then or he's going to have a 40% completion percentage every week. He needs to go to Sparano (Like a team captain would do) and say look coach, I cant get any protection with these guys do something and do it quick!

I'm satisfied with the improvement that he's shown. His biggest albatross is the red zone, but as the folks on espn just pointed out, that's the last step a qb makes. He's moving the ball nicely between the 20's but he and the rest of the offense need to take that final step. Marshall doesn't drop that ball and carpenter makes a fg and that's another 10 points we should've had. Is that enough to beat a very good offense like the Texans, probably not, but we're in that game at the end.

Eh, I guess. I just don't expect much from Henne when he has zero protection. I don't expect much when he does have protection, so maybe I'm just desensitized. :)

Well Henne is supposed to throw, catch and run with the ball

Oh yah and block because Columbo is a turnstile

LOL

There's only one number that is significant to me for Henne. His TD percentage in the redzone. Fix that and I'll believe in him. His TD INT ratio is 3/2. Not bad. He's ranked 26th in the NFL as of week 2 which is give or take since it's still week 2. He's not been bad, but he's not been as good as we need him.

well, they batted down 4 of his passes plus Marshal droped a TD.......not saying Henne's an all pro but not everything is his fault....in the end it doesn't matter. this team is doomed anyway.

Ozzy rules!!

Listen, it isnt Henne right now, so get off that trip. Right now we have a head coaching problem who isnt getting this team/players prepared to play a full game with everything they got!

oh cmon, you know damn well its the QB who gets the ripping when your star WR drops a TD.

i live for bad news.

Its a team game, this statistical point you are trying to make after 2 games is pointless! It will take the whole year to truly see where he has progressed or not for that matter!
Hence the words "so far" in the title of the thread.

You're responding to an argument that I'm not making.

Chad has improved but as the OP noted he is just average and not horrible now. Everyone should be held accountable for their play yesterday, even Henne.

Actually he's never been horrible. He's always been below average, and he still is.

I'm satisfied with the improvement that he's shown.
If you're satisfied with a 56 QB rating in exactly half of the sample of games he's played this year, I suggest you reconsider if you're interested in the success of the team.
