Chad Henne vs. Ryan Tannehill: A Scary Thought?

Hey Thanks WVDolphan, tried to send a private instant message, but said I had reached my quota.

I had a complete meltdown after that loss I thought we easily had won against the Patriots.

We let them back in, but so did the refs.

I guess you heard about Johnathan Martin going awol, after his teammates were joking to him about being sick.

Not good.

I hope we win, but I am expecting another loss.

Crazy thing is, that doesn't even include the lost fumbles or sacks taken. To see that completion percentage dip under 60 is a little disheartening. Hopefully Tannehill can crank it up tonight.

Through his first 7 games in 2010, Henne had 10 sacks and didn't fumble the ball at all.

So far this year Ryan Tannehill has 32 sacks and 8 fumbles (5 of them lost).

However, PFF's pass blocking grade for the Dolphins in 2010 was 26.5, which ranked it 4th in the NFL.

PFF's pass blocking grade for the Dolphins this year is -5.7, which ranks it 22nd.

We'd have to correlate PFF's pass blocking grade with sacks and fumbles to make any meaning of that, however.

Another Thursday morning break, another 1 star thread, by finheavens very own shouright. All is well with the universe.

Barry Jackson's Sports Buzz said:
Mike Mayock, who works Dolphins-Bengals on NFL Network, made some interesting comments in a chat with WQAM’s Joe Rose Wednesday: “The Dolphins’ passing game inside is efficient. Their pass game outside is inefficient. Teams are doing a good job with [Mike Wallace] at the line of scrimmage, jamming him. The Brandon Gibson loss is a huge loss.”

He said Ryan Tannehill’s numbers are “eerily” similar to last season, including his 6.8 average yards per attempt, and “you would like to see those numbers improve in year 2.” He suggests pass protection is impeding Tannehill’s growth because “if you get hit enough, your eyes start to come down and you’re not as good as you should be.”

Mayock questioned the Dolphins’ play selection in the second half of the New England game. “Up 14-3, 17-3, you’ve got to keep running the ball,” Mayock said. “You made it too easy for them.”
