GREATNESS
smh....whyh didnt you come up with these stats after falcons gaame
Let's remove the Saints game for Tannehill and the Patriots game for Henne in 2010 (the fourth out of his first four that year) and see where we end up.smh....whyh didnt you come up with these stats after falcons gaame
Who has said it is flawless? Nobody. But when you know what you are looking at (which you very clearly do not), it is far more reliable than stats, especially bull**** stats like WPA. Case in point, anybody who had even an elementary understanding of the game would know that Weeden blows and Bess is nothing more than a dime-a-dozen, mediocre slot receiver who will likely be a journeyman for his entire career, just by watching them play. Turns out those with eyeballs who actually watched the games were right and those who watched nfl.com/gamecenter were wrong. Per usual. My point exactly.
Not by everyone. :)
Good. But I suspect there is variation here in how much people are able and willing to admit their fallibility in that regard. We'd rather think our "vision" is flawless, regardless of the fact that it's been proven not to be.
Well then if it isn't flawless, how do you know you're not just as wrong about Tannehill as you were about Henne?Who has said it is flawless? Nobody.
Why on earth did you not just put in your opening post that it isn't fair to either anoint or dismiss Ryan Tannehill yet rather than letting 24 pages of nonsense ensure? My point exactly.

And how do we know you aren't wrong about Tannehill?I wasn't wrong about Henne. By this point in his career, it was clear he blew and always would.
I bear the responsibility for what everyone else writes? Why on earth did you not just put in your opening post that it isn't fair to either anoint or dismiss Ryan Tannehill yet rather than letting 24 pages of nonsense ensure?
Because I'm awesome and understand the game better than you do.And how do we know you aren't wrong about Tannehill?

I figured it would be something as flimsy as that. Thanks for your contribution and the discussion. :up:Because I'm awesome and understand the game better than you do.

Actually I truly appreciate your contribution. You've illustrated very well how any insistence that Ryan Tannehill will definitely be better than Chad Henne has to boil down to one's self-proclaimed omniscience, which can't possibly be real. :)Always happy to contribute some reality to your threads.

Sorry, but another question: why do you suppose the conclusion that we could neither anoint nor dismiss Tannehill wasn't made from the observation of the data alone in the original post? Why do you suppose I would've had to write that myself to steer people in that direction? It would be nice if you could answer the question rather than deflect.
