This is the point of Henne's career where things started to unravel for good as starter.
He had shown some signs that he could be a starter. After 20 games he was 11-9 as a starter and had us at 4-3 in 2010 with a good shot at the playoffs.
Sounds pretty familiar.
But down the stretch losses to bad Cleveland and Buffalo teams left us at 7-9 and out of playoff hunt.
Over his next 17 games he was only able to win 3. That will get you a job as a backup pretty quickly.
Even though Stats are very close for both at the same point of career, it is how Ryan does over the next 15-20 games that will determine whether these comparisons are warranted or not.
I don't see why you guys get so up in arms when anyone implies anything possibly bad about Ryan Tannehill. I have no issue with the OP's post. It is a valid post.
Whether you like stats or not they are what measure who gets to keep their jobs and who doesn't. That is the way the NFL works.
The OP never implied that they were equal, just displayed stats at equal junctions of their careers. You are all the ones who jumped on him and made the thread bad. You guys are like a bunch of sharks in bloodied water.
Comments like GB was injured so the Henne comeback victory means nothing. If I remember correctly Tannehill's comeback victory against Atlanta was against that same injury depleted team missing some of their best defensive players just like the GB game. These are just lame excuses.
Henne started 4 years at Michigan, Well Sherman and Tannehill have been together for years so I'm not sure how valid that point is. Henne went through 3 different offensive systems while Ryan has been in the same for several years. You can twist these things any way that you want.
Bottom line is that it will all play out over the next 20 games for Tannehill just like it did for Henne. I have faith that Ryan will do much better. But none of us knows that for sure.
