Charles Barkley on the Martin saga

Chuck is the 1 athlete whose opinion I was curious to get. I had a feeling that he'd say what he said. After all, "Athletes aren't role models"

Curious; Has Bob Costas weighed in this issue? He, Dan Patrick, & Al Michaels are the only Sports Journalists who aren't total a$$hats.

Feminism is in no way shape or form about "equality". All this complaining about
"equality" in the workplace is simply a code word for "advantage". I'm all for
equality. I think we should all be equal in every way, but the fact of the matter
is that nobody in any of these "movements" are interested in "equality".

But, this doesn't really have to do with the matter at hand. I heard Barkley
say this on the LeBetard show, and he admitted he was as clueless as the
rest of us as to what actually happened, BUT he did have his doubts as to
the severity of any "bullying".

Took the words right out my head. It may have been about equality in the past, but in its present form its about "my cake and eat it too."

A lot/most/all of this PC nonsense claim they want to level the playing field. Not really. They want to tip it in favor of whichever group is flavor of the month.

Remember, as the TV show Murphy Brown once stated, "PC is nothing more than white liberal guilt."

I really don't want to derail this thread, because I like hearing Barkley's perspective here.

If y'all wanna talk feminism, I'll be over in the Political Forum.

:rolleyes2:

Feminism is about equality, not attacking your damn manhood. I know the word scares you because you don't take the time to understand the issues. But how does feminism come into this at ALL?? I know you like to lump "sissy" issues all into your little conservative box, but that literally has nothing to do with the matter at hand. I'm amazed at people's proclivity to turn things political. All anger blindly thrown at "the Other."
Feminism is a politically correct, federally funded special interest hate group.

wtf we gonna do with Martin? Pay him for the whole season? Trade next year? This is where I am in this whole thing. Can we pawn him off to Indy or somewhere? I want to get something out of this Violinist.

Feminism nowadays is not about equality but about will to power. Pay attention to how billions of dollars in the Stimulus were shifted away from construction and infrastructure and into feminist-approved venues [after high powered feminist groups put down an ultimatum to Obama]... to laws restricting boys from being boys, etc [can now be charged w. a crime for make-believe gun play, etc. ad infinitum]. It's no longer about equality but about power and money. Pure politics. In fact, many economists call the American recession a "man-cession." It's disproportionally hurt manly men: Of the 5.7 million jobs Americans lost between December 2007 and May 2009, nearly 80 percent had been held by men. And this is no accident.

Feminism started off about equality but no longer is about that. Just like most unions started off being for the working man... but have now sold out to partisan politics, even to the point of hurting the very men they're supposed to be helping.

PoFo, Bro

Its under attack from feminist and liberals. Time to say what we mean and stop apologizing for it. I'll respect you a lot more if you don't go back and say your sorry.

I always say what I mean and I only apologize if I did wrong. The rest of these jack-offs can go **** themselves if they think I'm going to stop being who I am.

There is nothing political about it. Boys can't even be boys anymore due to the feminizing of our culture. Males and females are different yet feminism is trying to turn females into males. Sorry to get your "panties" in a bunch.

If there's one thing about Charles Barkley that's great is that he speaks his mind. He says what everybody already knows but no one wants to discuss. Maybe we should put him in charge.

OK, if it's all about equality, let's start shoving microphones and cameras into female locker and powder rooms. Maybe we should even listen in on their private cellphone conversations and monitor their text messages, plastering them on walls across the nation. Then, hell, why not start judging THEM over conversations they thought they were having privately with good friends and co-workers?

That, is how this is related to feminism. The traditions of an exclusively male sport is being judged by society as a whole, which includes women and their point of view. I think most men believe women have NO BUSINESS whatsoever judging men in this environment, when as you say, they have nothing to do with it except to observe it if they choose to as fans.
