Cincy Wins/Miami Wins: Here, we'd have decent shot at Div title, so gotta go with Ravens to win. Downside, Miami would HAVE to beat Jets or miss playoffs.

Cincy Wins/Miami Loses: The ONLY way we'd go to playoffs is to have Ravens Lose/Lose and Miami beat Jets, so gotta go with NE. [edit: Corduroy pointed out we could still advance on 3 way tie w/ SD)

Cincy Loses/Miami Wins: Root for Ravens so still have chance at the Division. Only way Miami would not make playoffs here is if Miami lost to Jets AND Cincy beats Ravens.

Cincy Loses/Miami Loses: Root for NE, so Miami makes playoffs by beating Jets. Otherwise (if Ravens win) Miami must beat Jets AND Ravens must beat Cincy.

If Miami wins and Cincy loses in the early games . . . I'd root for NE to win so we clinch a playoff birth with that result.

I personally wouldn't call needing Buffalo winning @ NE in week 17 a "decent shot at the division". It's more like a "long shot".

I see your point, and that one is a toss up. Frankly, I think it is just as much a long shot that we would lose to Jets AND Cincy beats Ravens. It would be exciting playing for the division title in the last week- I'd take that chance.

Baltimore is one of the most mediocre SB teams in history, they have been helped by officiating all season, it´s pretty unlikely they will win in Foxboro unless a robbery occurs.

In the last 4 years at Foxboro, Ravens lost by 3 twice, and beat them by 19 and 15. I wouldn't call it unlikely at all.

Neither Baltimore or New England are great teams this year. Both have won a lot of close games that they probably should have lost. One advantage that Baltimore has is that they are playing the game in Baltimore and New England has yet to beat a team with a winning record on the road. It will most likely be another close game that is decided in the final seconds. Just hoping that the Dolphins win in Buffalo.

Yes, but on any given Sunday ...... oh wait, we're talking about Buffalo ..... crap. Nevermind

Buffalo game scares the crap out of me. They are good at home- just look at their scores.

i dont think the bold is true. if we lose to buffalo and new england beats baltimore and san diego beats oakland, we can get in at 9-7 even if baltimore wins their last game IF san diego also wins their last game against kansas. if baltimore, miami and san diego all finsih 9-7 we win the 3 way tiebreaker.

they're not in Foxboro they are in Baltimore

ahh- I wasn't even going down to that level. Thanks for the clarification- I'll have to edit my post

don't discount buffalo, they always play new England tough. Look at past recent results. but I ask myself lets say we win the division, we most likely play KC in Miami. vs win the 6th seed and play the Colts in Indy. I'm more scared of kc then Indy even in Indy. who would have thought before the season that would be the case

What good does playing New England tough do when you lose anyway?

Since 2001 New England is 23-2 against Buffalo, including 12-0 at home. Don't count on Buffalo beating New England...not gonna happen.

I honestly wouldn't know what to do, rooting-wise, for that New England-Baltimore game if Miami beats Buffalo and Cincinnati loses to Minnesota. The Dolphins would clinch a play-off berth if New England wins, but that also means I would be rooting for the Patriots (yuck). If Baltimore wins, the Dolphins won't clinch, but they still have a slim chance at the division, and can still make the play-offs with a win against the Jets.

Then again, I will be in a car for 9 hours on Sunday on my way to visit my wife's family for Christmas week. Maybe I'll just ignore the score updates on my phone after the Dolphins game is over.

root for new england, id rather clinch the 6 seed then keep alive slim hopes at a division title and still have a chance to not make the playoffs.
