Check out this mock, Burrow at #5

Well at least we didnt take a RB in the 1st like so many people assume. I feel like this is the part of the mock draft season to take wild swings. Saw one recently where Herbert falls to 18 where Miami takes him, unless he calls out every owner and calls them a **** or something that isnt happening. Saw others with only 2 tackles and something along the lines of 8 corners taken.

People are bored putting the same guys to the same team, cant blame them.

I've tried to like Cynthia's approach but NFL Network never ceases to amaze me as the worst specialized network of all time. It's like they go out of their way to cement that status and build upon it.

Why would a draft plan and free agency plan focus on the following year only, in terms of won/loss record? The teams at top of the draft by definition understand they are too far away to implement a one-year plan.

In theory... Reality is most of the teams at the top of the draft find themselves in that situation specifically because they dont understand how **** works... imo

The most glaring example here is the stupid Lions owner telling the GM/CS that they are expected to make the playoffs next season... In other words, owner just explicitely told the GM to make it a 1 year plan.

I completely agree with you that most of the NFL media outlets are dumb, but I also think most of NFL organizations are just as dumb as they are...

They need clicks, so create mock drafts based around preconceived narratives that will attract attention. It's silly season.

I might get in trouble for this from the PC brigade but I'm not listening to much that comes out of Frelund's mouth. And it's not because she is a woman, it because the NFLN have taken a pretty girl whom they brought onto their programming for reasons only they know but I could speculate. Found out that she has analytics background and decided to sell her to us as some kind of expert this field. I'm not doubting her skill set or love of the game or football knowledge, just find that she is being manufactured into that role. Burrow at 5 is ridiculous, but just as much is Becton at 18, neither of these two things are going to happen.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a year when so many mock drafts are so similar. At least she’s not copying and pasting which it seems everyone else is doing.

I saw that mock and said wow!
Those Bengals fans would have every right to riot if that team took a DE over a QB..

Honestly, I think this would fall under "how to Bengal, Brown, Dolphin" with that first overall pick. A QB needed team in position to draft a QB, especially one that is seen as a top 5 pick, should draft a QB.

Seeing **** like this gives me a mild headache.

To take it one step further, the salary cap has divided the smart franchises from the not so smart franchises.

Every team loses talent, but the smart teams know where to emphasize their money/draft picks and build their strengths.

Certainly helps to have the quarterback set, which is why I don't dismiss that Washington has legitimate interest in Tua.
