Chester to miss Training camp?

Like I said.. We will have to agree to disageee.

His technique will be fine and if healthy will play to expectations without dressing for training camp. :)

  • That's the point... they don't know what to expect :)

If he is physically fit, he will be fine. I'm not worried about Chester picking up on the technical aspects of the DT position, he's a seasoned vet and I'm sure he knows how to stunt.

Stunt? Larry Chester has one move, the stationary belly bump. He can't read or react or run but none of that matters because he can't tackle. His pass rush is about as threatening as a training wheeler in the Tour de France.

I'm still rooting for retirement, followed by a flurry of disruptive young DTs next year. All the Chester apologists will surrender in amazement when they see the impact difference of upfield DTs, guys who shorten the play by petrifying the QB smack in his face, making everyone else on the defense significantly more effective.

Chester apologists? What a nerd. Man, he's all we've got for this year.

DEAL WITH IT

RI... with all due respect.... Chester while a serviceable pro is not a force. We could use some pressure up the middle... that gets offenses attention very fast....

I'm not saying Chester is Warren Sapp. He certainly is not a pass rushing DT but we are very thin at DT and Chester is a good run stopper and he's not a pushover. We can't ahve all-stars at every position first of all and second of all Saban can't build this team in one year.. I'm not a "Chester apologist" as one poster so eloquently put it, but he is a phin and he was a key element in stopping the run when he was healthy.
