Chiefs to rest starters vs Chargers?

The problem seems to be more of which Dolphin team will show up (in what is now our biggest game of the year), not so much how the cards will fall in other games. Yesterday's performance was so disheartening that its really possible that the spot will be there for our taking, but Geno and the Jets find a way to knock us out. I couldn't think of a worse way to end the season than that horrific scenario :puke:

I don't believe that the Jets can exploit our pass protection the way the Bills did. That matchup is simply too good for them.

However, I do believe this will be a very tight ballgame. My prediction? Let me just flip a coin.

If KC sits their starters, and SD already knows they have no shot at the postseason, how inspired do they play?

this should be interesting, but i'm hoping for a balt loss and a miami win prior to 4 so we dont even have to worry . . .

One thing im worried about is if we win the Chargers have nothing to play for anyway

Dolphins have a 59% chance of making the Playoffs. Ravens have a 18.7% chance, the Chargers have a 13.4% chance and the Steelers have a 8.9% chance.

The Chiefs resting their starters only helps those odds.

How can Ravens have only 18.7% chance? If they win and either Dolphins or Chargers lose, they're in. Dolphins need to win and have Chargers win or Ravens lose. Seems like Dolphins and Ravens odds are about the same, as both teams need to win and have one of the other two games go their way. Actually, Ravens have a slim chance to get in even if they lose, but Dolphins cannot get in if they lose.

Easy. The dolphins have strength of schedule and a lower limit of variables on their side. Ravens can win but they have two scenarios that harm them if they win.

If they win and chargers win, if I'm not mistaken, they are out. If ravens win and we win and charges win they are out.

If we win and chargers win we are in. If we win and ravens and chargers win we are in. Only scenario we are out with a win involves a ravens only win.

We have more scenarios where if we win we are in. Which means they have more scenarios where if they win they can still be out.

Hilariously Walt the scenario NO ONE is talking about is the one where the Dolphins lose to the jets, Baltimore loses to Cinci, San Diego loses to KC, and Pittsburgh loses to Cleveland... In this scenario the Dolphins make the playoffs.

EDIT THAT WAS LIES I JUST SPEWED BALTIMORE MAKES IT IF EVERYONE LOSES

No we do not.

If that happens, we do not get in. The Jets would also be 8-8 in that scenario, and would wreck our tiebreaker. Sorry.

You were right EXCEPT that if all teams win (SD, Baltimore and Miami) then Baltimore goes...thats the nightmare scenario.

Jets are 100% out no matter what.

Yep, but they screw up the tiebreaker. We do NOT get in if we lose to the Jets, PERIOD.

In the case that Miami, San Diego, Baltimore and Pittsburgh all lose, BALTIMORE GETS IN. That's a fact.

Everyone wins, Miami in. Everyone loses, Baltimore is in.
