Chilling Article from Salguero about the Incognito Golf Incident

I haven't been a Fireland guy before, but this situation, more than anything, makes me question the personnel department. I know that is strange, especially as I have also said I think this is very much overblown, but I really feel like they just keep rolling the dice on low character players or guys with mental problems and enough is ****ing enough already.
yeah, don't ship out vontae, marshall, let bush walk, sweep under Richie-gate I, make Richie a locker room leader, and then tell us you're all about high character.

so it's like this for me, I've known people who were complete innocent of what they were convicted for, but at the same time, there were crimes out there that they committed that they weren't convicted of, and this is clearly a case where Richie should've been gone before now.

People who are criticizing Incognito for something he did in the past should look at themselves as well. Yeah, he did something awful. No other way around it.

But everyone has done something they shouldn't have and made mistakes. Whether its stealing, cheating, lying, whatever it is. Most people have done stuff they regret. Its called being human and learning from your mistakes.

Thats where Incognito is faltering. He's been making the same mistakes for 10 years. He should be heavily disciplined because he is not learning from his mistakes. I think many of you are looking at it the wrong way. Most NFL players and most PEOPLE in general have stuff they are not proud of or made a mistake. Its fixing and changing the mistakes that count. Ryan Tannenhill said it best. "Don't crucify people for their past". You see if people learn and change. Something Incognito is failing to do.

So should've half the NFL.

the team is under no duty to publicize incidents like this one. they are under a duty to act appropriately and inform the NFL. they did so. what were they supposed to do? badger the media into making a huge story about it? take out half a page in the sun sentinel? rent a billboard on 95? there was no "cover up." they followed the procedures that are put in place by the league.

an unemployed black woman who was volunteering as a hole monitor at the tournament.

Sounds like she found the a hole she was monitoring

There really is no bridge too far for you and the others defending this, is there? Everything goes. Callousness, disrespect, rudeness, violation of another person, criminal behavior... it's all okay with you with you folks. I'm sure your sons will grow up to be fine men ...beacons of society ...role models for their children. You will leave a proud legacy because you are a fantastic role model.

oh, and shut the eff up, armando.

"chilling"?

I got it if a guy is a mediocre lineman we look the other way to anything he does! Attacking his teammates and golf course volunteers are all fair game. That Alpha Male Richie needs his fix!

I think we also now know why Miami was pretty quick to suspend him even though many thought it was because of the type allegation. InCognito although maybe the life of the party to some players seems to be the same low character guy he has always been.

So when Salguero, wrote a report on Richie being an honorary black man, everyone was riding his jock because he has to have been right. But now he writes a damaging report, and he is again a villain. Hes a good writer when he fits our agendas, but a scum bag when he doesn't.

No, his writing is always editorialized and terrible.

If we are really going to get all up on our moral high horse, then it just needs to be equal.

What's equal? No one has rights and they are all just items for Incognito to amuse himself with?

Not at all. But we don't know all of the details. We don't know if Chad Johnson was on a one strike policy, we don't know if the team felt Richie could be 'salvaged' and ordered him to counseling or something, we just don't know.

Let's face it, there is a reason Cedric Benson survived in the NFL as long as he did despite all of his criminal issues, and it's because he had talent. Dude could play. If you're good at your job, your employer is going to be more likely to give you a second, or third, or (in Benson's case) fourth chance. If credible rape accusations came out against Tom Brady tomorrow, I guarantee you the Patriots don't cut him.

Not saying what he did was right, or smart.

IF it happened.

Something happened. But all we have to go on is HER version from the the police report. As the old saying goes Hell hath no fury.....

Some here think it's Gospel because there were witnesses. OK if that's true and Cogs was so out of line, why didn't they go to the DA after there were no charges ? I don't know what happened, becasue I wasn't there. And neither does anyone else !

I'm not defending Cogs. What I am defending is the Constitution and the accused's right to due process. Cogs was never charged. She took a pay off ( from whom ?!). There apparently were witnesses but they weren't willing to go to the DA after there were no charges.
