Don't even think about running my qb in the pros that much...doubt we see much of this

I mentioned that in another post on this thread...discount the QB movement in the backfield, but the running game and the line movement "could be" similar...
Isn't the line movement on Benton's ZBS? Is his scheme similar to Oregon/Plilly?

Is Benton the offensive coordinator? Lazor sets the scheme for everything on offense...Benton teaches what Lazor wants....
I was wondering why you kept talking about Benton's ZBS...you thought he was going to develop the blocking scheme...he may have some input, but ultimately it is on Lazor.
Disagree. You don't bring in Benton's knowledge, experience, success, and then have a first time OC, with no OL coaching experience, tell him what to teach. Makes no sense. Everything I have seen or heard has Benton bringing in his scheme, and teaching it to the OL.
Inside outside zone read sure...
You've never coached have you....
Scheme is developed by the coordinator....it is the o-line coach's job to teach the scheme and technique involved...player development...
Does the WR coached develop the routes as well?

Yeah, it is a lot of info to sift through and alot to ignor, but certain movements and alignments will be similar
I have never coached, other than hoops. I agree on the skill positions but not the ZBS of the OL.
Let me explain the zone blocking scheme...
The lineman has basically 3 things he needs to identify on every play...is he playside of backside, is he covered or uncovered, is the guy next to him covered or uncovered...
The Zone blocking scheme is based of the idea that a player blocks an area and not a specific player...he "zone steps to the player and takes who comes into that area, whether it is a d-lineman or a backer....who ever shows is his assignment.
When dealing with d-lineman it is based on the defensive alignment...outside or playside shade...the lineman will block him...
If he is head up it will depend on how he slants or the path the dlineman takes...if he slants playside the lineman will block him....if he slants inside or backside the inside guy will block him(this could turn into a combo block depending the LB's)
If he is an inside shade, the inside guy will block him..
Obviously combo blocks will come into play depending on whether it is an inside zone or outside zone and the defensive alignment, but the basic premise is going to be the same...at the point of attack you will see more combo blocks as you want to get movement....
All ZBS are run this way....
Never questioned the basics of a ZBS, and have posted them before. Just questiong Lazor being the one to dictate what is done and/or taught, as he has no experience in doing so. Now I can see Philbin's input, as he was a former OL coachbut, he was the one to pick Benton to change the OL.
You are missing the point...
It doesn't matter who the o-line coach is...the ZBS is the ZBS, why is this hard for you to understand....there is no "Benton ZBS" they are all the same...what he will have an impact on is technique and player development....that is why he was brought in...not to develop scheme, but to develop players. It doesn't matter how much experience Lazor has with o-line he still is extremely knowledgeable in blocking schemes...he has to be to develop an offense.
There are variations. It's widely known that Kubiak had his own ZBS, and Benton supervised it. I just agree to disagree.
What variations....
